Zometa shots (stage IIIB)

Hi ,

Thanks for reading my post and thanks for always being helpful.

My mom had caner Stage IIIB . Its almost 3 years she done with treatment . She is taking Arimedix . She just had bone dentistry . Now , Her Oncologist recommend her to have Zometa shots every six months . Has any one experience of Zometa shots?

    Hey,

    Yeah I started Zometa earlier this year and will have it adminstered every 6 months whilst I am on Arimidex. My oncologist advised I take it because it can reduce risk of bone metastatics as well as protect bone density.

    The infusion only took 15 mins. I had quite bad bone pain for a day later and then I was fine. As previously said, make sure your mother books a dentist appointment prior to the first infusion as dental work is restricted once on it due to potential jaw necrosis.
