Biopsy or not? Need advice and inputs!

Last year I was diagnosed with DCIS and had lumpectomy and radiation. There are another two lumps in my breasts which were diagnosed with fibroadenoma in 2008. They are never biopsied but are stable in size since 2008. My recent MRI found both two fibroadenoma light up in MRI and the radiologist suggested biopsy. The reason the radiologist wants a biopsy is that the two fibroadenoma didn't light up in my last year MRI but did in my most recent one. So she wants a biopsy to make sure. These two lumps have been stable for 8 years, can cancer be that stable for years? I am wondering whether it is really necessary to do the biopsy? Any advice or inputs are welcome! Thanks!

Perhaps a second opinion would help?

I have two fibros in my 'good' breast and the radiologist decided to biospy the larger one (5mm) just to make sure it wasn't anything more sinister. They monitor them annually after my Bc diagnosis. Nothing came up on my MRI. It sounds like they suspect something has changed based on yourMRI. I would be inclined to go for biospy to make sure. Fibros are usually stable although I know they can get bigger but then so can cancer. I would go with your doctors advice. Better to be safe than sorry.

Personally I would get the biopsy so I could move on. Good luck with your decision...
