VLH, I am not sure about the expedited shipping. I know I bought some last minute and they arrived quickly.

I don't think it's easy to consider mastectomy and reconstruction but we do what we have to do. I had radiation after mastectomy but my PS is willing to do implants. Initially he wanted to do a Tram flap. It's too risky in my opinion. Also your PS can do fat transfer later to make the implants look better. I don't think you are being vain at all.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I'm praying that Annie had a successful surgery also!

Unfortunately there was cancer in the closest lymph node and had others removed as well. Probably from the 3.5 months of waiting!! It is what it is and will know the next step soon!

    I love you all!!

(((Lori))) it doesn't guarantee chemo. I had two positive nodes and no chemo thanks to a low oncotype Dx.

Welcome beebs2704! I had a lumpectomy and snb which turned into alnd last July. The lumpy is not bad. The lingering discomfort for me was the alnd. I did develop a seroma both in the breast and the alnd site so don't let them pull your drain too soon. My BS yanked it while it was still outputting a fair amount of fluid.

TE's are finally coming out after almost 7 months! Silicone implants going in 7/11 and I can't imaging it being anything like the mastectomy. I'm ready and looking forward to sleeping like a normal person again. Or just getting shirts to fit over my chest again will be so nice. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining because I am really so grateful for this technology and my PS is my hero! When my mother and my aunt went through this reconstruction was not an option. I'm not a fan of surgery so let's just say I'll be glad when Monday is over with!

Welcome to all our new members! You've come to the right place!

Hi everyone, just checking in! I'm home and I'm pretty comfortable at this time. There was cancer in one of the nodes taken but we'll know more when the path report comes in of course. I'm taking it one day at a time :-)

My plastic surgeon was very impressed with my 30 yo implants. No calcification, implants intact and best of all no alloderm needed! I shouldn't have my TEs in for very long. Yay me!

Here's my gift from the hospital

    image

There is a pair of fluffy boobs, a pair of drain bags, a seatbelt pillow and a nice carry bag to go along with everything.

Our Church Family will be dropping meals off for us, and if tonight's dinner is anything to gauge things, I think we'll be eating like kings. Yummy!!

All ladies waiting for surgery dates and recovering, you are all in my thoughts and prayers and I am in your pockets.

    Hugs and love to all!

Thanks for the welcome Molly! I'm hoping it's just SNB for me, but we never truly know do we?

Lori, nice gifts..I hope you let others take care of you.

    Lori, your gifts are beautiful.

Hope everyone is doing well who has had surgery so far. I was admitted to the hospital last night--they think my port is causing trouble--for those yet to do chemo don't let that scare you, a port is an awesome tool to have! But we finally got a surgeon to agree to take it out tomorrow. Hoping all my chest issues resolve like my MO thinks they will--if it's something else it will be a lot trickier to fix. Still, I get an extra little procedure this month. 🙄

I'm letting my hubby wait on me hand and foot. I do what I can for myself but I'm letting him do 99% of things.

I don't think I've gotten more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep since my surgery. I'm hoping it will catch up to me soon. I just have to move slower and take my time getting up and down. I can do this

Good luck Molly! You will be in my thoughts and prayers as well as all the other gals!

Well, I was able to get the dishes done, the laundry finished, our dinner made, and then I swept and mopped the floors! This isn't as bad as I thought it would be! I have a hard time watching someone else do all my chores!! LOL

    GOTCHA!!

Good morning everyone, my DH is doing a great job of doing all of my chores for me. It's nice to see he's a little tired after doing it all and it's not just me lol

I'm still doing great, I am pain free at this time. I don't have the jp drains with the bulbs, mine are the wound vacs and no problem/pain with them. I had 20cc from both sides this morning after going all night long. I've been averaging about 150ccs total a day since Wednesday's surgery.

Everything has been glued together, no stitches or staples which is kinda freaky for me. The incisions look really good with no redness etc. I have a follow up with my PS on Monday afternoon and I'm praying for no roadblocks on this BC journey!

My kids made it in last night about 10pm and we are having a great visit so far. We'll get an idea of what they would like to do and go from there a little later. The little ones just want to go swimming so they will get t a lot of that in. It's just nice having someone waiting on me hand and foot 😊

Just had my TEs removed and silicone implants put in- July 6th! Had my BMX July 7, 2015. My new girls are a bit large - 800cc! Wasn't really expecting them that large! Too early to tell how they will be. My sides are a bit different I'm hoping because of maybe radiation (only had rad on one side and lymph nodes removed in same side) and only 3 days post op! Would be nice if they were a little more similar! Anyone else have this issue?

Drains---ugh have them again!! If you don't want or need to buy anything and you're ok just pinning them to your bra(which I was and still am) put little small girls socks on them so the plastic doesn't stick to your skin! Easy and doesn't cost anything! Grabbed a mismatched pair from my daughters!

    Good luck everyone!!

Welcome pab!! Congratulations on your exchange surgery. I can't wait to hit that milestone. I am sorry you have drains again. Interesting idea about the socks. I may try that this time around.

Novmoon, try putting small pillows under your forearms. I found especially with drains that it takes pressure off.

Novmoon, praying everything is going smoothly for you. The pillows Molly mentioned have been a godsend for me and I love the relief they provide!

I'm sleeping in my recliner with several pillows to get the best position. I have a pillow to go across my lower and mid back, a pillow for my upper back and shoulders and then another one on top of it for my head. My DH calls me the pillow queen lol.

Has anyone heard from any of the other girls that had surgery this past week? I've checked and unless I've missed something I didn't see anything. I hope and pray that they are doing well with their recovery! After my post-op appointment this afternoon my DH said "Holy Cow! This BC crap is definitely not for sissies!" Then he told me how proud he is of me with this whole process. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside! LOL

My FU appointment....my PS said everything looks wonderful! My drains have been pretty low the past 2 days, he felt they might have been clogged. After taking everything apart, cleaned and put back together they are working just fine. I go back to see him on Thursday afternoon, my FU with my BS is Thursday morning. PS says if drains keep going the way they are he'll pull them Thursday. I told him that I don't want them pulled to early as some ladies here have had that done just to have the drains replaced. I didn't see that procedure listed on my FU paperwork!

I think I'm truly blessed to be able to say the one thing that bothers me the most is the swelling in my feet!!

Sending healing vibes and prayers to everyone here!Until next time!

I'm glad things are going well, WenchLori!

Molly, I may not have scrolled back far enough, but couldn't find the pillow reference. Can you help?

I tried to find a recliner that was comfy, but no luck I'm fairly short (5' 4") with a long torso, stubby legs and lots of junk in my trunk. None of the chairs support me in the right places. I'll have to try to get by with a bed chair. I think that's the right term...a pillow with arms.
