Thanks so much everyone for the well wishes. They say it was rads and chemo, (my neuropathy is what sent me to the ER, the pain was so excruciating and nothing worked) now my RO says some people have an adjustment to the rads hitting their system, but it's rare. (don't you hate when you have an obscure se it's RARE?)

Anyhoo, I was reminded by DH that when I had rads 24 years ago in other breast, that I had similar se's, lack of appetite, some nausea and the electrolytes being off. Funny how after a while you forget things, but your loved ones don't.

My RO did acknowledge when I saw him earlier this week that some have an adjusting period to rads, and nausea, lack of appetite etc can happen.

The ER Dr, says he has seen more than a few cancer patients that have this towards the end of treatment. Also, I used to drink fortified water all during chemo, but stopped when chemo ended. I've always had a problem with keeping my potassium normal though.

Sorry for the rant, and so glad I have you ladies.

Hang in there, Valstim. This too shall pass. :-)

And I had a weird moment in bed last night--was slathering on the cream (A+D this time) and I swear the skin on my bad hooter feels better than the skin on my good one. It got me thinking--I wonder how my skin would be if I put these fancy creams and lotions on my whole body several times every day?? (For those who missed it, sometime during rads I was passing by one of those carts at the grocery store with deeply discounted items. I noticed some A+D--the diaper rash cream--and saw it was mostly lanolin and petroleum jelly. I figured I might as well add it to the mix. I didn't love the smell compared to some of my other products but I must say it's pretty good stuff!!) I'm curious to see what my RO says when I see her in a couple of weeks. My bad guy is a different color but I must say the skin appears to be in great shape!!

Oh, Jill, I feel so bad for you!

My nipple itches. Usually worse when I'm out in public. I'm very tired, not all rads, work causing a lot of it. Have trouble shutting brain off. Only have 2 more boosts left :)

    Have a relaxing weekend!

Valstim...so sorry you have been feeling poorly, I hope it improves very soon!

Ingerp - hmmm diaper cream...I will remember this if my skin gets bad. So far so good!

LTF - glad some parts are healing. Maybe you need to have your RO check out your nipple, sounds infected.

Congrats to all that finished - yay!!!

13/30 for me - almost half way! Everything is going fine, just need lots of extra sleep these days!

Hootowl and Ivegotthis - Congratulations on finishing! It must feel wonderful! Time to celebrate!

tbalding - Two more! Zumba through the whole treatment process! You're a rock star!

cbowle - I'm still hanging in there with you! Have a great time on your trip to Mexico! Have a margarita for me! ;-)

muh - I'm happy to hear that you stuck with treatment and you're almost done! I was told no swimming. I sit on my patio in the shade and watch my kids swim. It's kind of like torture. Lol!

LTF - I think of you everyday. I wish I had some advice, but I'm at a loss. Just know that I am sending good thoughts your way.

I finished up 19/25 today! My skin looks angry. The upper left area of my right breast and the area in between my breasts looks downright furious! My NP took a look today and said put on an old t-shirt and alternate Eucerin with the Aquaphor all weekend. She told me to up my protien intake. Arg! After going through chemo, I'm so tired of protien! Why can't they tell me to up my intake of wine and chocolate? I can totally do that!

Best wishes ladies! Have a wonderful weekend!

    Tbalding almost there!!!

Jill - how awful and frustrating for you! I think of you often and hope for an improvement an healing.

Ingerp- It's funny you bring this up My rad side looks better than the other side too! I think it's the new skin! It's lighter and brighter very weird.

Muh I am avoiding the pool for a bit more time because of the chlorine and how drying it is. Wearing my sun rash shirts. Congrats on being almost done!

    Happy weekend All

Valstim, drink some Propel water. Not as yucky as Gatorade but with electrolytes. I drink at least one bottle a day. I like the kiwi flavor best. Finished 8/33 today.

i think the greenish skin was just dead skin, I don't think it was an infection because I was not feeling sick at all. I was actually planning to call the radiation clinic nurses yesterday, but never got around to it due to work issues

I think this time I really am turning a corner. The skin on my underarm and under breast is all dry and starting to come off, and the skin underneath is not irritated. All the white and green skin on my nipple has also peeled off, the skin underneath is pink and seems delicate, so I am keeping it while covered with Polysporin and guaze.

Hi friends, we're back from our 25th anniversary trip to Quebec City! It was so great to get away to celebrate 25 wonderful years of marriage and to officially celebrate the end of radiation. As requested :), here's our champagne photo before we departed - it would have been more romantic to have a shot taken at the Chateau Frontenac where we stayed, but our deck will have to do! I'm attaching the celebratory shot of the bottle in the air as an ode to all who have also finished. I'll have to take some time this evening and read through the posts to see what I've missed. (

    congrats Grazy! Great pics.

Definitely healing. Collarbone is fine now, as is under breast. Nipple is red and itchy but nowhere near as disgusting as it was a couple days ago, my under arm is quite achy and peeling badly but I don't think it's getting any worse.

Grazy you are beautiful. Thanks so much for the pics.

It seems like most of this Spring group is finished or pretty close? Anybody else have fun plans for this summer? I have two short work trips this month and then a long, lazy August. In the good news category, my family is doing some early planning for the holidays. We usually get together for a ski trip over Christmas/New Year's but one of my kids (the one who got married two weeks ago) said he needs something to look forward to so has spearheaded getting going on the planning. It's true--fun things to look forward to really help the attitude!!

we are going to Mount Tremblant in August, so I'm looking forward to that.

Fortunately, I found out Friday I did not get a job that I had applied for. It was in the exact direction I want my career to go and a very very rare opportunity to do so. I recently completed a 6 month contract in this direction with a stellar evaluation and had high hopes. I'm devastated and now rethinking my career... However my options for change are quite limited by my experience, my degree, and the fact that I make a lot more money than my husband and need to maintain that income or something close to it.

Aw, Jill, I'm sorry to hear you didn't get that job - so disappointing, especially when opportunities for you are rare. You must feel as though you just can't catch a break right now. Being an eternal optimist, I'm going to hope that this means there's something even better eventually coming your way. In the meantime though, I really feel for you.

Love Tremblant; went there a few times when we lived in Montreal. That will be a fun trip for your family. Are you staying in the village?

    Jill, glad you are healing!

    Grazer, love the pictures.

Day 9 for me today. I almost wish we could do this on weekends just to be done faster.

We booked my 50th birthday present! We are going on a 7 night Disney cruise to the Eastern Caribbean! It is one of their Halloween themed cruises and should be a lot of fun. I've never done those islands and got all excited looking at the tour options. The islands looks so beautiful!

LTF--my mother would tell you everything happens for a reason. Something better/more appropriate will come along.

ejmann--I am jealous! Not so much for the cruise but I'm a big fan of WDW. Took my kids individually and have done solo trips a few times--my husband hates stuff like that, although I've recently been thinking about my 60th (October of 2017) and might have to twist his arm a little. ;-)

Jill, bummer that you didn't get the job. I too hope this means there is something better waiting for you. Enjoy your trip.

Hoping to take a small trip end of August. Will be somewhere close as DH won't fly :/ Think I have to take a work trip in September to visit one of our affiliates in Mexico.

    Ejmann, cruise sounds like fun.

We'll girls, I'm finished with rads tomorrow Don't have any champaign so may have to have to substitute one of DH's beers, lol! Then jumping on T train this coming Saturday.

Hope you all have a good week

Congrats to all who have finished and close to finishing!!!!

All of us springers who have finished - our journeys seemed long when we first began, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I know i have done all I can but none of us know what the future will bring. Hopefully happiness and joy can keep the worry at bay, for a while anyway!

HUGS to all and I keep all in my prayers!
