shelly, so sorry you found yourself here. It is a very difficult place to be, but know that you will get to the other side! Try to stay busy doing things you enjoy, taking one day at a time.; take walks, spend your time with those you love and who are supportive. Once you get a treatment plan in place, you will feel much better. Keep in mind, that the tests that you are doing now will help your medical team put together the best treatment plan for your recovery in the future. If you are not opposed to meds to control anxiety, don't hesitate to ask your MO, if you feel the need.

    Breathe!:) You can do this~

    Wishing you the best!

Hi, Shelly. I'm in the same boat/was diagnosed last month. Definitely life-changing. Many of the women here have walked this road, some more than once. Here's the one tip a Survivor shared with me -- If you can, try to avoid self-diagnosing via the Internet... there's a lot of inaccurate info out there. Depending on where you are getting your treatment a nurse navigator may be available to help you walk through all of the treatment steps. Also there may be stress management classes or financial aid or other resources available. Perhaps ask your doctor's office? Sending hugs.

Shelly, this is the hardest part, when you know that you have Cancer, but you do not know what is going to happen next. I tried to do a lot of fun things to keep my mind occupied. Being alone, and on the Internet was bad for me. Just think of this as a bump in the road of life. The next few months will suck, but then it's over

Shelly - this truly is the hardest part - the waiting. For me, I just tried to keep really busy and stayed away from Dr. Google. That is one of the things my BS said to me was to stay off of the internet, and I did, which is amazing. She said the only two sites I could go to were this one (thankfully) and the ACS website.

Also just try and stay physically busy which keeps you mentally busy as well. When the intrusive and scary thoughts come in, make yourself think of something else. I just tried really hard to focus my energies and attention elsewhere.

Once you get more information and a treatment plan, you truly will feel a little better.
