Biopsy today
hello all
I posted last week in the "worried" thread. Now I'm waiting for results. I had a biopsy this morning. I can't say that was pleasant and am sore now. But of course the waiting is more painful than my breast.
I asked for the radiology report from last week. It says "1cm ovoid hypoechonic solid mass. Internal color flow is visualized. " It has a Bi Rad 4.
They took 5 maybe 6 samples. Left the little marker in there and sent me for a mammogram to verify the marker. Which they couldn't find. So they tried no less than 12 times which made me bleed even more. I think all that squishing is why I'm so sore now.
Anyway. Long (literally) weekend ahead so I'll hunker down and wait. As I said in my first post - I wish I wasn't "watching" some liver growths too. I can't help but think it is all connected. Bleh
Thanks for listening.

crew, sorry you have to wait so long for results....and, you are so sore! Kind of a constant reminder, I guess:(. Take whatever pain reliever you can, ice and try to enjoy the week-end. This is probably one of the hardest parts. Try to stay busy while you wait, and remember, most biopsy results are benign! I hope yours is, too:).

Hi Crew,
I just came back from my biopsy today too. It was for a 2 cm irregular hypoechoic mass, BI-RADS 5. I know this is going to sound weird but since it has a 95% chance of being cancerous, I'm kind of glad I won't get the results until after the holiday weekend so I can have this one last bit of time before I have to deal with treatment plans. The no-swimming for three days is putting a wrench in the plans, though. Nothing alcohol won't cure.
Best of luck with your results!

thank you all so much....and Bagsharon. I guess it's all relative. I'm so sorry for your situation and do find perspective there. I know I can say it's probably nothing.
I'll post whatever the final report is next week. Hope everyone has some nice weekend plans.

I also had my biopsy 6/30. Doctor is pretty sure it isn't cancer and so am I, but it still bothers me that the lump feels very fixed. Guess we'll see.

Bagsharon, Crew and Staci: Bummer that it is going to be a long weekend until results received. Try to focus your mind on things and people you enjoy. Bags...I second the alcohol remedy and on occasion I look in on the drinking topic to see what new beverages ideas are posted. Hugs and will look for each of your posts when you get results.

Mine is a benign phyllodes tumor, so I have to have it removed, but good news. Praying for a good report for Bags and Crew.
-
I haven't gotten the whole report yet but it is cancer. I believe he said IDC. Grade 1.
-
staci - whew! When will your surgery be
Bagsharon - I'm sorry. Is that what you were expecting grade wise? What now?
I still haven't heard yet.

hello, I am having a biopsy July, 7. I am not looking forward to it. My Bi Rads is a 4. They said it's likely not cancer, but I'm still concerned. I have a pea size solid nodule. I hope yours turns out negative.

Hi Csi501, and welcome! We're wishing you all the best and benign biopsy results. Please keep us informed.

Hello to all of those waiting and/just getting test results. I know the waiting is awful. My advice is to schedule time where you don't think about your tests and to also schedule time where you allow your fear and anxiety to come out -- posting here is a good way to let negative feelings out.
My second bit of advice is to believe you can handle having cancer. I was DXed with IBC Stage 3B in December 2013. I'm now in my second year of NED. Yes treatment can be rough but you can do it. You'll find that you are stronger than you thought.
And the BCO community is here to help in any way you need.

Please let us know how you are doing! I learned, which I should have already known, is that the brain cannot think about two things at once, so when I 'm stressed I knit! Counting those stitches really takes my mind off of everything and I'm making something pretty, while sitting!
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 BC almost 19 years ago and am so, so very lucky!

Crew, have you gotten your results yet?
On June 29, I went to my ob/gyn because I was having pain in my left breast and was worried it was a lymph node. She immediately sent me to the breast center where I had a mammogram and ultrasound. Nothing was found where my pain was (and the pain has since resolved) ButThey have a radiologist that reads the mammograms immediately and they provide you with results before you leave. I had micro-calcifications that were a "loose group of variable appearing calcifications" my report also said they were indeterminate calcifications a biopsy was scheduled, and I had it on July 5th. Stereotactic guided vacuum assisted technique....
My mammogram after the biopsy showed that they removed all of the calcifications and the marker is in place. I was told by the breast health navigator nurse that my results would be in today (Friday 7/8) However she called me this morning and told me the results were not back yet, but she still expected them today. I'm on pins and needles waiting for that phone call! I am PRAYING hard they call me today, I even took off work today, just in case of bad news because I didn't want to get that phone call at work.
