Same here, Ebru. I immediately thought of you and remembered you are visiting your parents by the sea. I hope all your family and friends are safe. I am praying for everyone there - so sad that happened.

dear Amy & all,
thank you very much for your kind messages. We are safe and sound so far, yet feel terribly sad of all that's been going on..
Cancer becomes lesser of my problems at times.. Many babies & children died
Hope things resolve soon.. Thank you once again for your kindest messages.

It was horrifying to read of the Ataturk attacks, and my heart goes out to all who have lost loved ones. Ebru, it is a relief to know that you and yours are safe.

Just a horrific attack. I do not understand people who have no regard for human life. I am glad to hear you are safe as well Ebru but sad your country is going through this. Besides our cure for cancer we can all pray for someday achieving world peace.
-

ıronic.. Will be föying in half an hour back to Istanbul.. I feel weird..
I read a tweet of a friend last night "I've been thinking I'll probably die of cancer, guess it's more probable I'll die of a terrorist attack"
There is literally a war going on in southern Turkiye where my hometown is, so close to the Syrian border..
Those who visited would know.. We are a modern and friendly country. Yes, majority of the population is Muslim, but we are not an Arabic society, never was.. So very sad of what's going on.. Hope things will resolve soon.
-
Ebru, thinking of you and all of the people in beautiful Turkiye at this sad time
Sending love...
Rose.

Ebru - Thinking of you and all those in Turkiye impacted by this. I got to visit a few years ago for one day on a Greek Isles cruise, and while I didn't get to Istanbul, everyone was friendly and the areas I saw were beautiful.
-
thinking of you, ebru. Praying for peace

Ebru, my thoughts and prayers for you, your family, your country

Turkey was such a economically progressive beacon of the Muslim world just 10 years ago. It's been shocking to see how it's gone back 20 years. Ebru, are you Kurdish? I have visited friends in Silopi and it was quite an adventure. My heart breaks for how the military has ravaged Mardin, Silopi, Amed, and other cities. It is hard to see the path forward. Öptüm.
-
thanks all. Lastar, I'm not %100 Kurdish.. Yet my blood is an interesting mixture of the ancient Turkish society..
Still sad and upset yet life's already back to normal.. Until what's next. We've lost the arability a while ago, unfortunately.. Economically, politically and I pray day and night things resolve really soon. I have a son and don't want to worry about his future in his home country. Quite a number of my friends migrated to Europe and USA.. I don't want that. I am happy here.
Peace .. Please .. Soon.
Ebru
