Is anyone like me?

Hello Her2 sisters. I was just wondering if anyone has a similar pathology as me since I don't fit into too many categories. I am just at the cut-off of suggested chemo/herceptin since I am Triple positive, node negative, with an invasive tumor of 6mm. Can anyone share their treatment experience with a tumor less than 1 cm? Did you have four cycles as opposed to six cycles of chemo? Thanks!

My IDC was similar in size and after looking at all the variables my MO recommended 8 cycles of dose dense AC/T plus Herceptin. I think it's a hard call with tiny tumors.

Thanks ladies for replying. I just meet with the oncologist and it looks like 18 weeks of Taxol and Perjita then Hetceptin for the rest of the year. Can't wait to get it done!

    Hi Deaconlady,

Did you have a port? How many weeks was your Taxol? What about radiation. We have a similar diagnosis

Hi Kdlee. Yes, I have a port. I had 12 weekly Taxol. I got the port about the 2nd or 3rd week. Even though my veins were good, I only had the one arm to use. I'm so happy I got the port. It makes things so much easier! I finished radiation last week. Are you going to get a port?

Feel free to ask me anything!

Hi Deaconlady. How did you handle the Taxol? I start next week and I know everyone has a different reaction but my doctor said other than the loss of hair, the fatigue is the main complaint. Thanks!!!!

Kdlee, I had a port inserted too. Unfortunately, they have to go back in and reinsert it this week. I am a very rare case of a port shifting! I still can't believe it but I got to do what I have to do to get this going!

HI Cwhitney! Taxol wasn't bad at all for me, but I see that you have AC too. My hair thinned some, but didn't completely fall out. I actually have lost some eyelashes and eyebrows on one side only now! I was tired some, but still worked through. I just napped on weekends when I could. I had a little nausea from time to time, and a little neuropathy. However, the side effects were not that bad at all.

Best of luck to you! Sorry to hear about port shifting though...

Hi Deacon lady. Thanks for replying! Actually, no AC. I made a mistake with my treatment plan. Glad to hear you didn't have too many effects. It gives me hope. People tell me I am the healthiest person aside from this nasty cancer so hopefully it will work in my favor.
