    Thanks for the welcomes.

Ayesha, I feel you. My surgery is supposed to be like 6 hours long. 😳 It still hasn't sunk in.

Welcome Ayeshamyesha, I still haven't had the tears or fear hit me yet. I'm extremely nervous about my upcoming DMRMX with TEs. I think not knowing what's going to happen after that hasn't bothered me to much. Chatting and talking to all the wonderful people here on BCO has helped me immensely!

Our Hostess Molly on this thread is one of those veryspecial ladies!

Welcome Ayeshamyesha, I understand your fear. It is very scary to face such a big surgery and reconstruction. I had a left side mx with expander last September so ask any questions and read through some previous surgery threads. Hugs

I'm really starting feel the nerves getting to me. I'm having my surgery on the 18th. I feel overwhelmed that I will not have everything ready at the house for my children and husband. Renting a recliner. Have a few button down shirts. But that's about it so far. I just hate the idea of being put to sleep. And perhaps even more nervous of what it will all feel like and look like when I do wake up. I hope and pray that I recover as easily as can be expected and quickly. I do not want to miss out on the rest of summer and the fun with my kids. I'm trying to look at this as just the next step. I just finished neo adjuvant chemo on 6/15. It's all just become so real. I made the hotel reservations (we will be traveling 4 hours from home) and it really hit me that this is going to happen. This dang roller coaster of cancer.

(((hugs))), az. It certainly is a roller coaster. You're a lot further than I am & mine's next week. Do you have anyone coming to help when you get home? Maybe someone can set up a meal train.

One thing I've learned about kids is that they're amazingly resilient. They are able to roll with the punches really well. So if you're not able to do anything major with them, don't be too hard on yourself. They are learning great lessons on compassion and selflessness.

Okay so next week we have _Asher_, WenchLori, Annie Tater, Ayeshamyesha and Eliana9 with scheduled surgery. In your pockets ladies! My sister is having a PBMX on 7/18. I plan on putting a surgery recovery kit together for her including Pink Pockets, a comfy button front shirt, the under the arm pillows that a friend made for me last year and some calendula cream which I found made my post mx skin lovely (avoid the incision!)

Thanks, Molly. I have preop this afternoon. I am feeling good about things, ready to take it on. My parents are headed here to help out. My husband is taking vacation. I think most everything is mostly in place. Thanks for asking.

Thoughts and prayers for those also headed into surgery next week.

I am having a lumpectomy and sentinel nodes surgery July 13. It will have been six weeks since diagnosis. Thankful to finally get on with things. The waiting has been the worst part. If Margins and nodes clear then I will start 5 weeks of daily radiation.

Thanks everyone, and good luck _asher_ and cosla! I still have 2 pre-op appointments on Tuesday, and a lot of shopping to do this weekend, but I did get everything squared away at work so that's one big thing checked off my list!

I hope it is okay that I hang out with you ladies this month. I am having a hysterectomy/oopherectomy July 26th and a lift/reduction on the left August 3rd. I am SO nervous about menopause (I am 35). And not so thrilled with the late date for the lift--I was hoping for mid-July and 10 days of communication blunders (and various office members on vacation/maternity leave) led to an August date.

Last year I started chemo the week of my anniversary. This year I am having surgery the day before. So much for vow-renewal at 15 years and my creative "Sweet 16" party...

I had a LX/reduction on the right side last Dec. and can second button up shirts/pajama tops and a recliner. I think I slept in mine for almost 3 weeks after surgery. I also bought a soft, front zip bra that was great--even better through radiation.

Welcome Chelle44, I understand completely about how nerve racking the wait is! Finally after almost 3 months of fighting with my insurance then my BS had to cancel my first surgery date. So 3.5 months later I'm finally getting my surgery on Wednesday. What a ride! I'm surprised I haven't been committed from going off the deep end so many times!

    ((((Chelle44))))
