BRCA Testing Companies

Does anyone have experience with different breast gene testing companies. I read that Myriad BRCA testing costs approx $3400 whereas Quest Diagnostics costs $2500 and only takes 2 weeks. I would rather not go with Myriad since they tried to patent breast cancer gene testing which is unbelievably unethical to me, but don't know the difference in the testing they do etc. Or how long Myriad takes compared to others. I know there are others than just Myriad and Quest like Invitae and GeneDX. Anyone have experience with Quest? Doctor's always seem to push Myriad but I don't know why.

How long did Color Genomics and Invitae take to return your results? I'm assuming I have to move fast because of the invasive and aggressive nature of the type of cancer I have. My dad had aggresive prostate cancer and everything seemed to take forever and we always seemed to be behind the 8 ball. Has anyone gone with Quest? I wonder if it really only takes two weeks.

I used Myriad. The doctors I saw in Washington, DC said Myriad is the only FDA approved lab to do the testing. I was told there are a lot of fly by the night labs that now offering testing. The issue with the less experienced labs is that they don't have the private patient database that Myriad has of 1.5 million patients tested to compare the results to.Since I was an effected patient, I paid $300 for my test.
