Anyone else
so last year they found an 8 mm mass did the whole thing ending in a negitive lumpectomy. So go in for this years mammogram and have another mass that just grew to 8 mm in the other breast within a year. Did ultrasound and now go in July 15 for another biopsy. Thank god this one is close to skin and easier to see. Anyone else have this? For so what happen? Thanks. I'm not looking forward to this again.

What was the pathology diagnosis last year?
-
I had lumpectomy in October 2012 ended up being FEA and some other benign findings, don't have my results in front of me but it was microcalcifacations and such, now nearly four years later after having all clear mammos, I have to go back on June 29 for another mammo and ultrasound on the same breast near the same area they see a 8mm nodular opacity. Pretty scared because the surgeon made the comment to me "pretty sure we got it all" on the biopsy in 2012, which didnt give me alot of comfort except that she did remove 3 specimens and my mammos have been clear since. My ob/gyn said it could be a shadow or scar tissue. I have heterogenously (sp?) dense breast, so just hope I havent had something growing since 2012. From this point on I plan to go to another facility and have the 3d mammos just hope I havent made this decision too late......

wasn't cancer however surgeon said looked just liked it only way they would of know is by taking it out.

I too have dense breasts. I m 37 years old and felt a lump in my breast. I went to the dr and he said sure it was nothing but sent me for a mamo and ultrasound. The mass is a fibroadenoma. But in my other breast ( the left)they found a discrete focal cluster of microcalsifications that are "somewhat" pleomorphic with no associated soft tissue dencity. In the report the radiologist said he suspects they are b9 and are due to my fibrosis in other breast but referred me to a specialist. That was yesterday. Today I got a call from the specialist and was told I need to come for a biopsy and mamo. I m really nervous. Like they called so fast. I m terrified. I m trying not to think of the what is but I have 3 children and I have mixed messages. Trying to relax but easier said then done. I m glad I found this page. Sorry for rambling. I may have even posted in the wrong spot

I am with you. My kids are older but they you still don't want to worry them if you don't need to buy them again that's always in the back of your mind.
-
sarakatchewan, I felt the same way, the first call back i recieved, everyone seemed to act different and moving fast to biopsy and it turned out to be benign. Try not to worry, i know its hard because here I go again and cant help but worry. Prayers for you!

me too, its nice to talk to people who know exactly what you are going through! There are some amazing women on this site, i feel embarrassed for being weak at times when they all seem so strong!

So Friday I went to Regina for a biopsy and meeting with a breast specialist. I was totally prepared for the worst as I was told my microcalsifications were plomorphic and clustered. My appointment was at 1pm and I sat in the waiting room until 130 then called into the room. Then I proceeded to wait until 150. The nurse said the specialist was still studying my mamogram that was done a week prior. I thought I was going to throw up. What if she found something else. My head was spinning. She finally came into the room and sat down.
She said she first off wanted to apologize for me being put through all this as there was nothing she could find that was a concern and I should have never been sent. My microcalsifications were all uniform in size and the mass was defiantly a fibroid. No biopsy needed. Just a yearly mamogram and a ultrasound on my fibroid in 6 months. I couldn't beleive it! I am so thankful. To all of you strong amazing women going through this is wish you strength. I only went though this for 3 weeks I can not imagine what you all go through on a daily basis. Thank you for hearing me and listening. I can only hope in 6months I will get the same news

Sara that is great news! Mine turned out to be a cyst, the waiting and worrying was horrible, thought I was going to lose it! Im still wondering if I should go to a specialist for a second opinion, I will decide this week. I have been told that a cyst is easy to diagnose by ultrasound. The tech and the radiologist both told me it was a cyst. Im just a worrier and cant seem to stop but I am relieved and praise God everyday!
-
wow great to hear and to find out before the Mri ultrasound biopsies etc. fingers crossed its all clear next year.
-
So just wondering any of your thoughts on getting a second opinion from a specialisit when local hospital radiologist diagnosed it as a benign cyst. Im a worry wart and dont want the specialist to think im crazy and I just cant decide whether or not to get a second opinion.
-
Cysts are easily identifiable on imaging. I would stop worrying about it.
-
Thats what I have learned from Dr. Google as well and I was told that by the tech then by the radiologist. I just worry that it is being caused by something more serious in there somewhere. Thanks your response Melissa.
