oh peppermint, I'm so sad to read this. You're a true inspiration of hope and faith. Always helping and encouraging others. I pray God will give you pain free days and peace. Please get your pain meds adjusted.

Hi Patty, we had the most awesome thunder/lightening storm last night. Nature doing its thing.
I hope you are getting adequate pain meds. I am so much more productive & calm when I am not fighting the pain.

I hope you feel the sheer love we are sending your way. I may not be able to wipe away your sorrow from the effects cancer is having on your family but take heart I know the pain you are in. My heart is broken to see the effects cancer is having on my kids and husband too. The heart will heal. Your boys have an incredible Dad and great love for each other. They stay by your side because they love you. The seeds of love last a life time. I hope your pain is better controlled. Take another pain pill and have a glass of wine. Chocolate too. Prayers, lovingkindess and peace to you. Much love rosevalley

Dear Patty,
Popping in from IT to offer gentle (((hugs))
I have lotsa mets to my bones and spine too. The pain is ucky. I don't do well on opiates/narcotics; no relief just really, really bad nausea. My Onc team has been good with thinking outside the box for pain management. I'm waiting to be scheduled for kyphoplasty(s) and ablation treatments. You had posted that you were going to have those procedures done when you were in the hospital. Did you and did you get any relief at all?
Here's what I take to keep from jumping...ummm limping...out the window:
None of these make me pukey
Fioricet - A barbiturate that works on the central nervous system. Usually rx'd for severe headaches.
Tramadol - Considered "narcotic like" and good for bone and nerve pain.
Valium - Good for muscle and soft tissue pain/spasms. Also eases the panic of "yikes! I am in horrible pain!"
Provigil - RX'd for shift workers with daytime sleepiness or for narcolepsy. Clears away the "cobwebs" and also eases all over body aches associated with Fibromyalgia. Recent studies have shown it boosts the effectiveness of pain meds. I have found it does!
Trilisate (Choline salicylate/magnesium salicylate) - This one is new for me, not sure yet how it will work. It is a super heavy duty anti-inflammatory. It is harsh on the stomach, so I'm waiting a bit to try it.
Cymbalta, Neurontin and Lyrica might be worth a try too.
Sending thoughts of healing and comfort to you and your loving family and prayers for all.
Hoping you'll soon be going for your midnight dips in the pool

patty...I have waited to respond to your post, hoping I could come up with something. I have no words except thank you for being honest and authentic. I hate that you are here, in this current state of being. The pain you are describing sounds horrible. I'm so sorry. I hope you and/or someone in your family can advocate for relief! I truly believe ones outlook can shift dramatically when pain is under control. I pray they can help you! Tears, lots of tears. I love you miss patty! We are here right beside you ❤️

Patty. I just started cymbalta 20 and I had pain relief within a day or two. I don't have the same level of pain you have but I was amazed it disappeared. I'm still waiting for the pep my PCP said it would give me.
Wishing you peace and comfort.

Hi Patty,
Thinking of you tonight and hoping that you were able to speak with your MO about pain relief.
I know how proud you are of your sons. My daughters were both in a dance-theater production. Here's the cast members photo. My older daughter has aquamarine-colored hair, the younger one has long, wavy, blonde hair (and has a "serious" expression).
Wishing you a restful night and a peaceful tomorrow.
Love, Madelyn

Hi Patty....thinking of you and praying that you have gotten some relief....both physically and emotionally. Thank you so much for "real" talk about what is going on, we love you and while we cannot truly feel your pain, we empathize so much for you!
((hugs))
Toulouse likes to hang out on my lap top while I'm working. Little stinker! But he's too dang cute to get mad at long
Love ya!

I'm sending my hugs to wrap around you, Patty!!! I remember last year when school ended and the boys were playing in the pool...it still makes me smile. You were feeling better & hoping this damn disease would take a break from making life so difficult. Those precious boys (and all of us, too!) have had you in their lives for that year and you've survived so many really, really tough trials. I know we hope for the miracle of healing, but I can completely understand how you wish this journey would just end, and you could save your loved ones the pain & suffering you feel. There's just no explanation as to why some pass so quickly, while others don't. I pray your Drs will find a way to control this pain...you've suffered so much... all the while, showing us all yourstrength beyond belief. May God wrap you in His arms....love you, Patty.

I heard from Patty last week. She's still in a lot of pain and making adjustments in pain meds. Plus she fell, hurt her knee badly but thankfully not broken.
