What a delicious looking meal. Good news is seems I'm okay just not sure why the TIAs. Seeing several specialists for follow up. Cholesterol is very good 150.

Hi ladies- just moved from Chicago area down to Homosassa (hr north of Tampa) last month. Diagneosed 3 years ago July and BCO and the boards have been a life saver. Been in touch with Special K and he wonderful posts the whole time, and she just recommended Dr Wright to me- who I see tomorrow...
Sorry to have just missed the May meet up-- I'm up for another one any time!!
-
Hi avita welcome to Florida. Where in Chicago? I'm from the Bolingbrook Naperville area. You will love Dr.Wright. I come up from punta gorda 2x a year to see him.
-
Aviva - yay - you found us! As you see, there are several of us on this thread who see Dr. Wright, or Dr. Cogburn at FCS.
kira - how are you doing?
-
I was in Algonquin, NW of Chicago, north of Elgin, south of Crystal Lake...Lots of nice BCO ladies up north, enjoyed the Illinois ladies board for years...seeing Dr Wright tomorrow...my new primary care recommended Dr Fonsecu (?) up here near me in Lecanto, also FCS
-
Hello Aviva. I'm from the Chicago area as well. Lived in Wheaton for years as well as the Northwest Burbs and Chicago.
-
the longer Im here the more I get the impression much of the state is from the midwest!
-
Aviva - trying to find a Florida native is tough! I am a native Californian, and it is the same thing there - everyone is from somewhere else. My DH was actually born and raised in Miami, but both his parents are from Pennsylvania and ended up here doing medical residency and nursing - they met working on a patient in the ER. We returned to Florida for my DH's last military assignment in 2006, and he retired from active duty in 2009, but continues to work for Special Operations Command at MacDill AFB in South Tampa. We stayed because both children were enrolled in college here, and we had bought a home. DH had maintained Florida residency throughout his 28 years in the Air Force so the kids had in-state tuition rates here.

Me and my husband are both from the Chicago area..born in the city then raised and lived in various northwest suburbs. I have cousins and an aunt that blazed the trail down here about 18 months ago...

Missing my BCO Sisters!
-
Hello from Alaska!
I've just caught up reading the thread(s) tonight. On a positive note, It seems there have been many enjoyable lunches since I've been gone. I've missed the fellowship with everyone and look forward to seeing you soon! We may be retiring and moving back to our Clearwater house. The job market will determine where we head to next, we've never been civilians so this is all new to us!
I'm just finding out about Monday's Child. *if you're reading this please know I think of you often and have followed you on FB. For those of us who joined the group around the same time, you are our mentor, our leader and the head honcho! I think SpecialK is a great successor, she's very organized she has a daughter who fishes and she's also a great cook! Well done.*
I'll keep you posted on when I might be returning to Florida. Until then, stay positive and stay together.

firework - hi! Good to hear from you! Stay warm up there and come on back to FL soon - we miss you!
-
Hi SpecialK, and all TPA folks! I live on Honeymoon Island in Dunedin. With Hermine visiting, I have been housebound, and have had the opportunity to scan through the various threads on BCO....And I found a Tampa group! I'd love to join, keep in touch, maybe attend any local gatherings! Please include me! Thanks!
-
kaneli - welcome! Yes, please do join us at our next gathering! Add this thread to your favorites by clicking the "add to favorites" button in the header. Whenever we plan a get-together, and we should have one soon, the info will appear in the header as to date/time/place, etc. Sometimes we meet at a centrally located restaurant, sometimes at one of our homes - but we always have fun!
-
Thanks, SpecialK! I look forward to it!
-
I'm thinking if we can get Monday's Child with some free time, it's time for another Luncheon. Last one was in MAY. Just my two cents.
