Yes ladies, so sad to see another incident of senseless violence. One person can do so much harm
DH and I went for a 45 minute walk around the lake in the effort to find my own peace. Then later I walked the dog 20 minutes.
-
I haven't seen the news but learned of the Orlando tragedy this morning at church school. Why are we so horrible to one another? I know it's a cliche but 'back in the old days...'. How did we get to this point where you are not safe anywhere. Sad.
No formal exercise today and mysunshine graciously excused me from class tonight as I was running late.
Night sculpted friends.

Ruth - thanks so much for sharing those pictures - they are beautiful! Badger - congrats on hitting 6000 miles!
Orlando broke my heart - and the sad thing is that we're all so used to these horrible mass shootings now. I don't know what the answer is, but we all need to work together to find answers.
We ran a 5K race Saturday morning - and I finished 3rd in my age group!! I even got a medal and everything! I know it's a little thing, but I've never won an athletic award in my lift, so I'm quite proud! Thanks to all my Sculpted Sisters for your inspiration to keep me going!
The run is for a great but sad cause. Nick Adenhart grew up in a small town, Willamsport, Maryland. He was a star baseball pitcher, and eventually made it to the majors with the Anaheim Angels. In 2009, just after pitching a great game for the Angels, he was driving home and his car was struck by a drunk driver who ran a red light, and Nick was killed. His family established a fund in his memory to support local youth baseball, and the 5K is their major fundraiser. This is the 7th year for the run. The 5K is a real community event - the whole town turns out to support it.
Here I am getting my medal with the other age group winners - Nick's mom is the woman in the center wearing bib #34 (Nick's number). I'm the one on the far left in red with the big grin!
And I'm posing at the finish line with wearing my medal.

Yea, Mary!!!!
-
Way to go Mary. Ruth, I love the Crazy Horse sculpture and pixs.
At the gym feeding the Fitbits. It's mid 90s and the air is barely working here. Going to have to complain to management. We use a small basic 24/7 gym and are grandfathered into rate we got when they opened years ago. Still, I need cold air.

So awful watching the news on the Orlando attack! Praying for all.
I did Pilates today.
Last whole breast today! 5 boosts and I am done!
-
Hello everyone! I am finally out on vacation! My driving duty has started, as my kids have begun lots of activities. My DS will be driving next summer, so I need to enjoy our time going and coming together. We'll be house sitting for a few weeks, so we'll be enjoying our get away!
Prayers for everyone in Orlando!
Today I did the step machine, elliptical, and tread mill at the gym. It's all about exercising inside, due to the swarms of mosquitos.
Ruth great pictures! Beautiful place!
Mary-Great job on your race! What a great tribute that is to a life taken so senselessly.
Tomorrow I am going to the Tipsy Canvas, where you can paint and have drinks. I will be meeting some friends from work, should be fun. Last time I could hardly keep up w/ painting, so I hardly drank.
-
Have fun tomorrow painting, Annie.
Congratulations on 6000 miles Badger! WOW!
Nats: Love your pictures! Way to go getting a medal!
PlanB: The count down is on.....
Prayers lifted for Orlando.
Walked/ran this evening.
-
Congratulations, Planb, we are getting ready to celebrate with you.
Great walking, badger!
Have fun painting, Annie. I have a 'lovely' owl I painted at one of those parties.
Did a bunch of yard work this morning, Zumba & yoga tonight.
-
Scottie - I'm with you on stuffy gyms! It might not help if you're moving from machine to machine, but last winter after one too many stuffy sessions on the dreadmill, I bought myself a battery operated fan that I could clamp on the machine to blow on me. The fan has a rechargable battery so all I need to do is plug it into recharge it. I got it through Amazon and have been quite pleased. It's called the "INNOBAY Desk Wall Mountable Mini Rechargeable Fan Clip On Versatile Cooling Fan for Home, Office, Bedroom, Gaming Room, Computer Table and Multi-scenes" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013WYXXFY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Annie - the painting event sounds like fun!! PlanB - sounds like the end is in sight - hooray!!
2.5 mile run this morning. At one point I had my head down as the sidewalk was a bit uneven when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye - there was an adult male deer about 10 feet away - I think we were equally surprised to see each other! His antlers have already started growing and I was so close I could see the velvety soft covering on them. Later I saw a mom deer with two fawns gamboling on the golf course. (Yes, the fawns were "gamboling", not "gambling" - can you imagine fawns in sunglasses and visors and little deer golf shirts placing bets on the next hole?)
-
Lynn, would love to visit the Villages, and You and Patoo! We have old neghbors that live there too!! Headed to Cancun for four days!!
-
Have fun, Kindergarten!
Did Pound this morning & will go to Barre in an hour. It was pouring down so hard when I was doing errands that I turned around and came home. Good, because then I don't have to water my lawn!
-
Have fun kindergarten. Congrats Nats on your medal. Planb, great news.
Ran 45 mins in pool this afternoon then did 5-mile Leslie Sansone workout with my class. I say 'workout' and not just 'walking' because many of her tapes are more than just walking and I combined 2 DVD's to give them a good workout. Fun.
Night sculpted friends.
-
Mary....how cool to see the deer....glad they weren't spooked.
It was nice out today, in the 80's but by the week-end going to get close to triple digits!!!
Not snacking during the day as much as I do when I work, so trying to figure out how NOT to graze during the day at work....I guess I have some time to figure it out.
DD#2 is babysitting for a young couple tonight....this couple bought a good friend of our's house...when the gal was showing DD#2 the house, DD did not tell her she knew the house!!! But DD said it was weird. My gf sold the house last fall to downsize and we were just at her new place on Sunday!!
Sweet dreams.
-
Here's where we walked today. The spillway of a dam that protects our city from flooding.
-
Nice picture, Ruth.
Patoo: I have a Leslie Sansone 5 mile CD and it definitely is not all walking! It's low impact aerobic dance with a little bit of walking in place thrown in for rest.
I decided to walk/run this morning instead of the evening. The park where I walk is behind an elementary school and can't be used during school hours. I may start going more regularly in the morning this summer because the evenings are getting too hot.
LilacBlue: WHERE ARE YOU? I MISS YOU!
-
Only about 30 minutes aerobics in pool this afternoon. Need to do many things on my own as sometimes going with others stunts my style!
Temps have been in 90's and have tennis 8am tomorrow and by 9 my sweat will probably be sweating! Next door neighbor (our friend) put hot tub on her lanai which she and my sister will probably use often. Hot tub in 90 degrees? Won't you sweat sitting in 102 degrees? May as well just go outside and lay in the grass. Just kidding as I used to love hot tubs before BC and lymph node removal. Going in for only about 5 mins is just a waste of my time so I won't bother.
Later sculpted friends.
-
Patoo you need a plunge pool not a hot tub!
Another beautiful walk picture, Ruth. It's good to see the trees leafed out, isn't it,
I was wondering yesterday where LilacBlue is. I hope everything is OK
Nat I watched my first Cubs game of the year last night and they beat your team. I looked for you! I resolved to try to watch more games this year but so far, still can't find the time for it.
Finished mowing after my son gave up- 15 minutes and then walked the dog 15.
-
Zumba & yoga.
Lilac, hope everything is okay!
-
Tipsy painting was a fun evening w/ friends! Here's the finished work.
Today I did Zumba @ the park and ran at the beach. I love the summer!!
-
Annie you are very talented. Ruth beautiful place to walk. Mary congratulations on your medal. Patoo yes you definately need a plunge pool and I agree about sometimes needing to be a lone wolf, when I first started exercising I did it with an exercise 'buddy' but we used to talk each other out of going to the gym. Wonderland hope you enjoy your new morning routine, I sometimes have grand intentions of working out in the morning but it never seems to happen. Add me to the list of those who miss LB.
Tonight did Body Pump - working on those biceps for my Hannah's wedding but it's in December and I'll probably end up wearing long sleeves, still my goal is to have fabulous arms
-
Many years ago when my big kids were little, the house we bought had a hot tub on the deck...we use it more like a pool for the kids...large wading pool....the water temp probably was in the 80's...the kids loved it!!
Ruth, gorgeous scenery for a walk
Annie, nice painting
Tired, so think I'm going to call it a night....DH has a 5:30 am flight so I'm sure I'll wake up when he leaves the house at 3:30..poor guy when he travels back east, sometimes the only morning flight is 5:30 or 6 am....if he leaves later in the morning he looses the day and he doesn't want to spend an additional day gone...
So many people have told me that I need to spend time with DD#2 before she leaves....so we were chatting about it this evening...She has been busy with her friends (as she should be) and she says, I'm with you in the morning (today she got up at 10:30) and I eat dinner with you!! Gotta love that kid!! This afternoon she went to a movie with a gf and then tonight fro-yo with another friend. In between she went to see the student she has been volunteering with for 4 years!! She has a busier social life than I do!! She leaves in a week from tomorrow for 2 months. We will enjoy some girl time over the next few days, especially shopping for toiletries for camp (she is working at a camp for 2 months).
Sweet dreams!!
-
Annie - wow - that's great! I envy anyone with artistic talent - my stuff looks like the scribbles of an untalented 4 year old!
TwoHobbies - did you watch the Nats-Cubs game last night? 12 innings of heart-pounding tension. What a game! If that's a preview of post-season play between our two teams, we'd better keep our cardiologists on speed dial!
2.5 mile run this morning. I have another 5K race this weekend - an all-women's run called the Run for the Roses - all finishers get a rose, so that's kind of fun.
-
Three loads of laundry yesterday and a half hour workout today.
-
Nice picture, Annie!
Pound & Yoga this morning. It's fun to see a number of my teacher friends coming to the daytime classes now that they are on summer break. My Book Club meets tonight, so I will be regaining any calories that I have burned off today!
-
Too hot to walk my afternoon walk right now....a friend asked me to go for a drink tonight, so I will have to be good about getting the rest of my steps in...might be around the house!! Amazing how many steps I can get in my modest size 1 story home!!
-
No, Mary, I missed the more exciting game between the Cubs and Nationals. I had heard it was an earlier start so I didn't even try to catch it but had I known it would go to extra innings, I would looked to see if it was still on.
Lazy girl today. Nothing to report.
-
hi all, quick post after catching up. 2.5 mile walk after work, NICE night.
Decided to be my own best friend and stop working so much. Life's too short! ♥ to all
-
Glad you are going to take care of you Badger, cause if you don't no one else will, what ends up happening is that they just expect you to keep putting in all the hours.
Body Combat class tonight, then a trip to Costco and managed to spend less than $40 woohoooooo -
May go for a walk around the neighborhood this morning
