What about fatigue?

Dear Fellow Survivors,

Today is my birthday and I am 53. I am six years out from first cancer diagnosis--breast cancer, and still on the cancer fatigue merry-go-round. Please read my article below. Thanks! http://www.curetoday.com/community/barbara-tako/2016/06/tired-of-cancer-fatigue-let-me-off-cancers-merry-go-round

Happy Birthday to you!  I hope you can have the special day that you so richly deserve!

I very much enjoyed your article.  I feel the same way, but haven't talked to anyone who is still battling fatigue so far out from treatment.  It has been 4 years since my last radiation treatment and some days I'm just as tired as the day the treatments ended.  The rest of me is fine.  I'm cancer free, but the mind-numbing fatigue just hits from out of no where. Family doesn't understand.  Doctors just say, "for some, radiation fatigue is forever."

Thank you for sharing your experience and making me feel less alone.  We will continue to pull, drag, haul ourselves forward, just not as quickly or with as much energy as we once did.  And that is OK.

    MinnesotaBarb,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I've also have found myself tired for no apparent reason. I get home and all I want to do is plop. It's now that I'm trying to return to what I love which is dancing the zumba as exercise. I have gained weight from taking Tamoxifen and I'm trying to do something to help me mentally and physically, I'm just doing fifteen minutes watching the youtube dancers, but it's not easy.

Funny your birthday today, when I was very young my parents told me that my birthday was on June 15. The only thing they remembered was that on that particular year I was born on Father's Day. I was born at home, I decided to come early and my father help my mother with the birth. The ambulance came and we did go to the hospital, but the hospital never registered me. I ended up having to type up my own birth certificate and to make sure I had the correct date I called a library and asked on that year what day did Father's Day fall on, and I was told it was June 17.

    Anyway, Again, Happy Birthday
