Food during chemo

My MO said I could anything I want while on chemo except raw food, that includes salad and fresh fruit and vegetable juice from juicing. Too bad I bought a juicer first and then decided to ask MO, lol! She said since I'm on chemo, I would be prone to food poisoning and other infection we can get from uncooked food.Anyone here whose MO mention about this?

    Yes, my MO said NO to salads, fresh juice, raw fruit or vegetables, undercooked meat/eggs, and buffet lines. She strongly suggested that I not eat any ground meat, too. Foo!

    It didn't matter too much because my taste buds changed dramatically during chemo, so nothing had the right taste or texture for months. Much as I might have wanted a bowl of fresh strawberries, they probably would have tasted like paper clips. About all that tasted and felt right were mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs (firm), and bacon. I love cold cereal and milk, but it didn't matter what kind I tried, they all tasted like grass clippings. Double foo!

    Thanks mustlovepoodles! I was thinking of keeping a healthy diet while I fight this disease by eating lots and lots of veggies and fruits and by juicing. My tastebuds didn't really change, in fact I've got a bigger appetite now but I still watch what and how much I eat. I want to stay fit so I opted for more of the healthy stuff, but now I don't know what to eat anymore, lol! I probably need to surf for cooked veggie recipes now and lessen my fruit intake.
