Such a great thread! My little rescue (I always say he rescued me!) does not leave my side. I often wonder what's going to happen when I go back to work! I don't know what I would have done without his constant companionship during this time. It is only my son and I here, so Harley was with me when my son had to work or went out. Love him to pieces!

Karen, He is so adorable!! Welcome to this thread!

Love that picture! Our furry friends know when we are in pain. They want nothing more than to make us feel better. My three Goldens are so concerned for me. They sleep at my feet, have refrained from jumping on me (amazing), and lay their heads in my lap to just be close. Two of them are just 2.5 years old.... they have so much bouncy energy, yet they have been remarkably calm with me since my surgery!. Their attentiveness and awareness of what we need is truly wonderful! We are lucky to have been rescued by our dogs!
-
Our fur babies have been staying close by their daddy. They have been on their best behavior for him.
-
I come here when I need good therapy! These photos and the connections we have with out pets makes all the difference.
-
Indeed! Here are my 2 year Olds hugging my hubby since they can't get in my lap! Note my house is covered with cardboard to protect things from chewing ! What a mess! Worth every minute!
-
Great pic, LRGO!
-
Could not resist.
-
Nice to see you WW. They sure are wonderful therapy.
LRGO, Great picture!! I had a golden many years ago. He was such a sweet dog - very smart.
Ducky, hahahahahahaha.....Thanks for the laugh!!
-
Love it Ducky!!!!

I love Boston's......as some may already know .....that was our families "go to" dog.....at one point we had 4 in the family.....I had 2,....(that I rescued from a woman who left them at the Vet and never came back), and my daughter had one, and another daughter had one....my daughter bought one for my husband 2 months before he died..his name was Bossman...that one lived for 11 years.......then another daughter bought one from the same breeder and was a nephew to Bossman....his name was Bullet..............then the breeder moved, left 2 dogs she had at the Vet saying she would be back for them...........
She called my daughter, told her they were at the Vet, and if we wanted them we could have them and she would pay the Vet bill......................I went and picked them up......one was 13 years old, and one was 7.......Faith was 13...Mark was 7............Mark as Bullets brother..........Faith was Bossman's sister............imagine......all of them related.....Faith lived for 1 more year.............Mark lived to be 12..................
Now here's the kicker...............the breeder said once she got in an apartment where she could have a dog she would take Mark.............always was wondering....will this happen.............well she never did, and eventually Mark's health deteriorated and I had to put him down which I waited way to long to do......loved my Little boy..............t

Great pic, Ducky!!

Here is a picture of my Boston.....I really miss him...He was blind as you can see from his one eye, but he was blind in both...plus could not hear...and had alight dementia.......his back legs were not real good either....I held on to him for too long, but could not let him go.....so unfair.......wish he was here now....it's been about 12 years since I had to put him down......

Smiles for you ladies today.....
I thought Stormageddin didn't like her stacked beds...
But then she got up and proved me wrong!
My comment on this.....
If where you are is too hard, find a softer spot!
Here's to hoping each of you can find a softer spot today!
-
The vigil outside my bedroom door continues! Maybe tomorrow my furry friends. Maybe tomorrow my drains will be removed and you can join me in the bed again.....
Here's to hoping I can enjoy their hugs again soon!
-
Love seeing all the doggies! Makes my day.
-
They are saying: MOM!! Let us in!! Bringing you a toy!!
-
haha...
Storm (front right) LIVES to chase and retrieve the ball!
JAKE (front left) just wants to hold something in his mouth - anything will do, a toy, a ball, your arm....
MEG (white face in the back) just wants to lean against you and smile.
Goldens are amazing!
-
Dozer scared the spit out of me the other day - he did something we haven't seen him do yet. I thought he was dead.. When we called him, he wouldn't move at all. Silly guy - he loves the sun..
-
that would have scared me too...yikes
-
sounds like he was perfecting his tan and his selective hearing.....
;-)

-
Sometimes he is so precious.
-
Very sad day today - I just could not let him suffer.
In many ways this grief is my gift to him for out loving bond and the hole his absence makes in my heart. -
So sorry for your loss magiclight. We love them with all our hearts and the last precious gift we give them is easing their suffering when they cannot continue. I hope you have someone near who can hug you tonight.
LRGO
