rosie--you might post this question over on the Spring 2016 Rads group or even the Winter 2015-2016. Lots of people who recently finished rads.

Rosie, it can be normal for that part of the breast to remain swollen for some time. You might get a referral for PT to assess some of the swelling - but it can take a long time to get back to normal.

My aureola stayed pinker for about 2-3 months but did not have spots. If you are uneasy about it, schedule an appt now with your RO. You deserve to have it checked out. congrats on making it through RT.

Rosie- I am currently in treatment 22/30 and just noticed the brown spots! It does look kinda creepy to me! It will be interesting to hear from others. I will ask nurse when I see her

Rosie, good question. I have one more treatment left and I have a lot of those brown spots and hope they go away. I'll be interested in knowing other's experience.

Can’t hurt to see a dermatologist--(S)he may be able to set your mind at ease. I didn’t get brown spots, but did get a tan over my lx incision, enlargement of the seroma inside, fibrosis just beneath the skin, and pinkness in front.....all of it absolutely painless. My derm (to whom I’d gone for eczema on my face) noticed it and prescribed a steroid ointment. That cleared up the pinkness and lightened the tan--and a “Swell Spot” pad in my sleep bra softened the fibrosis and began to shrink the seroma as well.

Rosie, the dots and swelling are most likely perfectly normal, but do not hesitate to schedule an appointment with your RO, or even his nurse. Most likely you will see him in a couple of weeks, but, if there are concerns, considering all that you/we have been through, it is always better to put one worry to rest. Also, please do keep an eye on that swelling. If it seems to be increasing, please see a lymphedema therapist (PT with special training and certification), who will show you how to move fluid out of the area.
