Steps to get radiation after chemo

Hello everybody.

I am so happy I finished my last chemo session yesterday. Now the radiologist has advised to get 28+5 radio sessions.

He said that I can start on the 22 June which is only 15 days after my last chemo. Is it not too short time? What I have read tends to be between 3 and 5 weeks.

My mother in law had breast cancer as well and before she started the radio sessions, she got checked again with mamographies and ultrasound to know the exact points where the radio should be given, but my radiologist says I dont need to do any test and that he will work on the scar. What is your opinion about this? Is it a normal procedure as well or because I am using national insurance they are doing like this because its less costly?

Another friend got checked with a CT scan and heart before the radio. Should i also get this?

Thank you very much in advance for your comments.

We are each unique and wbat is best for one is not necessarily what is best for someone/anyone else.

I started 25 rads a week after last (12th) adjuvant Taxol. My Rads Dr want a new CT before starting rads so it was done the day of last Taxol. (I had done A/C neoadjuvant.)

My understanding is that rads start date also depends on whether you receive dose-dense chemo or not. I did have a CT scan but that was to get a picture of where my bones/organs are located rather than to check the heart. Like Kicks said, everyone is unique
