Age 50. Called for a routine screening when I reached 50. Thankfully, I kept that appointment.

27. No family history, and yet tested positive for BRCA1 after diagnosis. Further DNA testing done on my parents revealed that my father is the carrier... Yet no family history of BRCA related cancers on his side, either.
