Twenty five minute walk this evening It's not much, but something!

Fantastic job on the bridge and rock garden, Mary How peaceful.

Ruth, skinnier may be in my past too, but I keep wishing. Trying to focus on just healthy.

Mommyof2 I think I'm done planting too - woo hoo! Until I get some additional wild idea.

Hey Sweet great to see you, can't believe the wedding is fast approaching, time sure has flown by.  Mary what a beautiful garden area you have created.  Ruth the last time I was skinny I was in my 20s, you know in the olden days Loopy  viktoryak great job its hard when you don't feel like exercising but you feel great when you walk in the door after you've pushed yourself. Patoo I'm a great participant but no way do I ever want to lead Nerdy

After work I did Sh'bam (dance on demand)  in my living room, now I need to move east so I can have a big basement to dance in, instead of moving dog beds out of the way and dancing in my postage size living room and then went to a late Zumba class.

Mary....love the bridge and the garden. ViktoryAK....great job!

I have 8-10 pounds that I don't want or need, and hope that the summer cycling does something about them. The bigger news is that I am not a lot larger based on the fact that I love to cook and eat. I didn't need the sauce I made for last night's pork tenderloin, for example. And I didn't need to have wine with dinner.

Having said this, I look just fab in the new Hue jeggings I found at Nordstrom Rack, but should have bought one size smaller. Fortunately, they are cheap so will remedy the situation next week when I go into Seattle. Perfect casual wear.

I know too what I would look like if I didn't exercise, and it's not something I want to contemplate. Not to mention that I probably wouldn't be doing a lot of the things I love doing. I wouldn't still be on my game professionally. And I might not have survived cancer.

So off to do my crunches in a few. Legs are talking to me from my runs the last 2 nights. I am doing a hilly metric century on Saturday and a fun Three Rose Gardens ride through Seattle on Sunday. And yes, I will stop at Honore Bakery for some restorative macaroons. - Claire

Pound & Yoga this morning. This afternoon I planted some vegetables and strawberries on the side of my house (which is usually a raspberry patch, but the raspberries are pretty thin this year and I can't find anyplace selling raspberry plants). My phone died, so I have spent a considerable amount of time today trying to figure out the new one!

    School's out for the summer!!!!

DD left tonight for a long week-end in NY..she gets home late Monday. She went with a gf for a week-end with their youth group. Monday the girls will spend in the city.

Bought my ticket using miles for summer travel. Now have to figure out accommodations. One friend I've stayed with for a week-end, a sister I met her on bco passed away in January :( . Another friend will be here when I'm there!! Last year I only paid for 4 or 5 nights accommodations, this year it will be more...Need to get on AirBnB.

Its late, so I best get to bed.

Moan - I knew all that work clearing out undergrowth would come back to haunt me - I have poison ivy!! And I was so careful wearing gloves, long pants and a long sleeve shirt. I think the oil must have been carried by sweat as it's at my elbows and knees, around my waistband, and most painfully, at the bottom of my bra band under the breasts - exactly where sweat would have gone and sat. I'm an itchy miserable mess. The dermatologist is phoning in a scrip for some prescription level cortisone cream. Meanwhile, I'm half asleep today from the Benedryl tabs . . .

Oh no Nats! I had poison ivy in April and it was terrible! I ended up going to the doctor and getting a steroid shot plus steroid pills. It was swelling on the lower left side of my face and I was afraid it would go to my eyes. What a relief when I was finally cured. Wishing you a quick recovery!

It's hot and humid here. Our new air conditioner was installed just in time! Will try to walk/run this evening.

OUCH Nats!!! Hope the cortisone works fast. If not, go back in and get the steroids. Dreadful stuff!

Rainy here today. I took a day off from exercise. I cleaned all morning, went to lunch with friends, did errands, had coffee with a friend, now am back to cleaning. Tough life

Sounds like a nice day, Ruth.

No rain here but I feel like I just came in from the rain! I just finished my walk/run and I'm drenched in sweat from the humidity. The weatherman said it will be less humid next week and I hope he's right.

The weather is heating up here in Denver....It was warm walking this morning at 8! My perfect summer day is clear blue sky, light breeze, sunny and 75!!

Nat...ouch...sorry about the poison ivy...hope you get relief soon.

Ruth, I'm going to Toronto for 5 days to visit my DD and SIL, then to Israel for a month. I am volunteering on an military base for 3 weeks...it is Sunday to Thursday each week, with the week-ends (TH afternoon to Sunday morning) off. I've done it twice before. I plan to do it every year. I've met some wonderful people that I've become friends with. I get to Israel about 5 days before the program starts and have 10 days after it ends before I come home. I have to figure out housing and see what friends want to host me. I started travelling in the summer a few years ago when my youngest was at summer camp. This summer she is gone for 2 months first going to her sister then working at a camp. Its a good thing my DH doesn't mind me "deserting" him. When he travels for work, we will have to find a dog sitter. Also my mother will be his responsibility......He really is a great guy, especially to put up with me.

Have a good week-end. Be back tomorrow night.

Nats what a cute bridge. I have a metal one which is several years old. So sorry about the n poison ivy. I have to avoid that stuff like the plague.

Annie. . .I usually go with Consumer Reports for appliances. They rate the front loaders much higher them the top loaders; however, too many friends have have told me that they get mold in between the glass on the doors. We bought a top loader high efficiency floor model from HH Gregg on Monday. Could have ordered a pair from Sam's Club but Dh said no. Wednesday our 22yo dryer broke for the 3rd time. So back to the store we went and added a floor model dryer to our delivery order. Both came today and we did get really good deals with full warranties.

Walked around the lake tonight after a nice date dinner out.

Nice bridge and garden. MOmmy, nice you got your garden done. Poison ivy - yikes! Hi all.

Still active from Walk Away the Pounds DVD, Masters Tennis, bicycling, water aerobics and dragonboating. Plus met a lady visiting The Villages who knew no-one so we took over and have been showing her around (nightly entertainment and today the beach, tomorrow maybe a scholarship luncheon before hanging out at a club or the square tomorrow night). Then she will return to Delaware, sell her house and come down here to play and get healthy!

    Night sculpted friends.

Oh no, Nats!!! Poison ivy is the pits. One thing I don't have to watch out for here. But I have had at least 3 terrible cases of it. It could be even worse as the couple I heard of who didn't pay enough attention to their surroundings in the heat of passion. They got adjoining hospital beds.

I need to go out for a walk. I was going to do a ride, but said forget it. I should be just fine tomorrow, but will want an early start for the 100k as hot here. - Claire

Wow, you are going to have an interesting, busy time, Karen!

Patoo, you should get a recruiting bonus for all the people you are luring to The Villages!!!!

    Drink lots of water, Claire.

Yikes, Nats! Sounds pretty awful. Hope you feel better soon. Patoo, I want to retire there, too! Good luck on the ride, Claire! 100K looks like a typo to me but you really are going for 2 zeroes....again!!

Zumba last night and maybe today again.

hi all, been a busy week with too much sitting. Worked late Weds & Thurs, had supper with mom Fri so home after dark. This weekend need to catch up on exercise and sleep, and get in some Garden & Sculpt. Our strawberries started producing this week OMG yum. Going to the greenhouse this afternoon for some annuals to fill a couple containers.

Mary, ouch to poison ivy; this has been a rough spring for your family. Nice landscaping job!

Ruth, you may not be skinny but you are fit and that's what counts. Skinny is over-rated OMHO.

patoo, you are a great ambassador for The Villages. My mom is that way where she lives. In addition to helping new people feel welcome, it makes her happy. Management is thrilled by the free help with the library and the great PR, and they let her know they appreciate her efforts. Hope TV does same for you.

(edit to add: only 13 mi to hit 6,000 miles walked since March 2010. Started with a single step..)

Oh no Mary. I got poison ivy and had no idea how. It must be easy to contract.

I planned on mowing and weeding but it rained early so too wet to mow. Instead I went for a 50 minute hike. Now I'm going shopping since I seem to have no clothes this summer.

    Have a good day all!

At the gym feeding the Fitbits. Really tired this weekend. I've been working to many hours and don't see the light at the end of that tunnel anytime soon.

A really fun day here. Each year, local car dealership sponsors an event called The Running Of The Pink. 100% of the proceeds are matched by them and 100% of the money stays local.....donated to an organization that provides free mammograms and pap smears to low income women. One of my former teaching assistant's early stage cervical cancer was found because of this program, so I know first-hand the good it does. There were over 500 participants this year. So awesome. Here are some friends and me getting ready (to walk the 5K).

Hello ladies! I have been going and going! It has been crazy w/ my kids out for summer and my last couple weeks of work. I work as a school counselor and work for 3 additional weeks after my kids get out. I am so excited to get out for my vacation that I can hardly stand it. We just got our tickets for the water park. My kids and are also going to San Antonio for a few weeks. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in October in San Antonio too! As I see all the emails it makes me more amped up.

Today I walked on the treadmill and rode my bike w/ DH.

Ruth-GreaT picture and it sounds like a great event!

Claire and Scottie- My washer is a front loader, but it has been making a lot of noise. I am prepared to get a new one, but haven't decided on the specific kind yet

Was a total scorcher today with the problem being not just fluids, but getting enough salt into your system. I helped a young man who was cramping up as I carry these things with me. Just had yummy (and salty) Thai food as too beat to cook. But I did do the 63 miles, and came out just fine.

A lot of guys were really hurting. One very funny comment I overheard was a 30-something who thought that his gym workouts would take the place of miles on the bike. He learned otherwise today.

I didn't go up anything spectacular, but I went down a hill where I had previously wigged out and needed to walk. So ready for the BIG ONE which is six weeks hence. - Claire

Great pic, Ruth! Glad the proceeds stay local. I quit supporting SGK due to their high overhead and lack of focus on The Cure. Would rather spend my time and money on local events. For example, the annual walk for the county 'cancer coalition' that provides money for basic needs like gas to get to tx. A friend was recently dx with leukemia and there's a huge fundraiser next weekend. She & her family run a local business and who knows what kind of health insurance they have but cancer is expensive.

Took advantage of a picture perfect morning to walk the neighborhood, and finish planting my greenhouse loot. Logging 3 miles walked yesterday and 2.5 so far today. Having brunch w/friends then have the May books to finish for DH so will see what the afternoon holds. ♥ to all

Yup, I am all about giving local! There are a few national organizations I give to (like BCO), but I check them out pretty carefully first.

We spent the entire afternoon with a very, knowledgeable young man at Meynards looking at KITCHEN designs, moldings, cabinets, cabinet faces, woods, stains/paint etc. etc.......yes, I have talked DH into the necessity of a kitchen remodel (SHOCKING!). We have a whole long list of things to think about and decide (the actual work would not be until fall), so we haven't jumped in yet, but at least we are at the pool .

I need to do about half an hour of toning and then I am good for the week.

This morning went to Body Pump class, haven't been for a week and that darned bar had gotten so heavy I actually took off some weight, then this afternoon went to a filming for Body Attack gosh it was a killer class but I got through it. As I was driving there I realized I had forgotten my shoes, now you know I have about 10 pair of gym shoes but I had to run into Ross and pick up another pair, luckily I found a pair for only $20 and as this class is high impact jumping I was a bit worried but the shoes turned out to be great and so I'm going to put them in the back of my car and leave them just in case this ever happens again.

So today this picture popped up in my FB memories, Ruth, Badger, Patoo, Sweet - two years ago today we were in Santa Barbara, and I'm so excited that we're going to get together again this year in San Antonio
