I'm writing this post on behalf of my daughter as she seems to be pretty ill after her first chemo on May 28. Cramping in legs, nausea, stomach cramping , body ache .. Is it the chemo or Neulasta ? chemo is Taxotere and Carboplatin for triple negative cancer.

Hi Margdahl:
So sorry your daughter is having to go through treatment. It must be hard on you watching your daughter on this difficult journey. She is lucky to have you, keep her eye on her future, she will need that from you!
I had Carboplatin/Paclitaxel (Taxol) but my understanding is that Taxotere and Taxol are similar drugs with some similar side effects. In my limited experience it could be either the chemo or the Neulasta. I had the Neulasta with my AC rounds, not my TC but I did have flu like symptoms that lasted a couple of days. The Taxol caused stomach cramping and some leg pains. I found Buscopan to help with the cramping (I'm in Australia so it may be something different in the US) and the leg pains were not that significant for me. I do have a friend that found the leg pains and other weird nerve pains to be troublesome and felt that Lyrica helped greatly.
Best of luck to your daughter!

Hi
I did Taxotere as my last half of my chemo. I never had any Neulasta aches that they warned me about until I started Taxotere. Have your daughter take 24 hour Claritan starting the day before her chemo for about 5 days. I also used extra strength Tylenol as needed. My nurse advised me to keep on top of the pain and not to let it get worse or I'd be calling her in tears.
My oncologist had given me some prescription meds for nausea to take as needed. I didn't really get nausea from the Taxotere regimen but constipation and then diarrhea usually did happen. I would take a laxative for a few days starting the day before my chemo until I felt things were working okay. The second week I would just be careful of what I ate to avoid diarrhea (and take Imodium if necessary)
I hope this helps and hopefully your daughter is feeling better

if she's still having nausea talk to her MO. There are a lot of meds out there that can help.
