Protein Drinks

Hi all,

I have read on several threads that drinking Ensure or the like is good during chemo to boost protein. However, many protein drinks contain soy, which I have also read is not good to have when you are triple negative. Also, I'm soy intolerant so I can't drink it anyway. Has anyone found or know of any protein drinks that do not contain soybean oil, soy protein, or soy protein isolate? I can have limited amounts of soy lecithin.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Maryanne, I made protein shakes using whey protein powder and milk. I found that more cost effective and it tasted better to me than the bottled ones like ensure.

i use a product by NOW Sports. It's egg white protein so you don't have soy or dairy (whey) to contend with. It is truly the only one I've ever used that doesn't have a bad aftertaste. I use it in my berry smoothies. It adds a bit of froth and that's it. Be sure to get the unflavored. I almost walked out one time with chocolate. You may need to get it at a health food store. My grocery store doesn't carry it.

    CostCo carries a whey-based, low-carb protein shake.

I like Rumble shakes because they are soy free and have little sugar but boast 20 grams of protein. I also like Sun Warrior brand protein powder (the pea and brown rice one
