I had my surgery on May 2th. A week later the surgeon put me on antibodics for 14 days. I've finished that. Seen surgeon 4 times since the surgery and he was please with the healing. The last two of three days my complete breast has swollen and at the end the color is a pink instead of flesh color.

Is this normal? I've been using ice packs and taking Motrin.

(My surgeon is on vacation this week.

That does not sound normal. Please call the surgeon's office today to inform them of these symptoms, and obtain professional medical input. I expect they will ask you to come in. Usually, there is a surgeon on call (a colleague who can serve as back-up) who could see you.

    Keep us posted.

I did call early Friday morning. By the time a nurse called me back, all the doctors had left until Tuesday. I managed to get in touch with the surgeon on call. He called in another prescription for antibodics.

Now today, the swelling is worse and the redness has covered 2/3 of my breast. I'm going to call the surgeon on call in the morning and see if I can get him to meet me at the ER.
