anybody else experience this.? Really low white cell blood count and temp 101.

Had to be hospitalized for 3 days and given antibiotics. Dr says gonna reduce chemo by 20% cause body can't tolerate 100%.

Are you receiving Neulasta or Neupogen injections with your chemo

yes I had this on round one of AC, was hospitalized for 3 nights and then had the Neulasta shot after the next 2 rounds of chemo.  This is quite a common problem, but never heard of reducing the chemo because of it

I was never hospitalized or had issues but my MO reduced my Taxotere when I switched over to it by 15 percent. He didn't tell me until the next time I went in and left it at the reduced amount. Could have been due to my blood counts or maybe he felt i didn't need as much. I have seen others comment in the different threads about reductions or stopping all together due to hospitalization though.

Round 3 of A/C is when I experienced the fever of 101 and low white blood count. They never found the source but they said my gut could have contained the viral infection. Three days with antibiotics. White blood count went up on its own with shots. Never heard of the reduction in chemo. So, it is common to get at least one fever during A/C. Hopefully you won't have another. Good Luck.

I ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics for 4 days after my first chemo (TC). My neutrophils bottomed out at 0.0. I didn't have Neulasta after round 1 but did for subsequent infusions. Round 2 I ended up on oral antibiotics. Round 3 I had to go to the hospital again with a high temp. Was prescribed penicillin. Round 4 was my "easiest". My Oncologist did consider reducing my chemo for my last round but my bloods were good so we decided to push ahead with a full dose. And as he said, "We are aiming for a cure here". Glad I did as I didn't have the extreme side effects that I'd had with the first 3 infusions. Wishing everyone well. Donna.
