Patty: thinking of you and hoping you continue to feel a little bit better.

Patty I was thinking of you today and hoping you are feeling better. You know the faslodex isn't lasting the full month for me. I had 2 tumor markers done and one was lower then the other which started to climb as the Faslodex wore off. So the doctor added Ibrance. I started it yesterday. It went down without a hitch. Pray it works. I am trying to get through the summer to be with my 15 year old. She has some camp weeks but 8 weeks she's home and DH is at work. I want to be there. I hope your sons are well.
I hear your frustration with the roller coaster ride in cancerland. It's no fun. I hate puking. You know when I came back from Mayos (I wanted 2nd opinon) last January they were all concerned about my left femur breaking. The PET scans and CTs all showed uptake and I am heavy so that's lots of stress and load on the bone. They wanted me to see a orthopedist and I did. My onc said becareful stepping off curbs and walking it could break any time. Long story short it didn't break. A year later and zip. I get hip and back pain that I take oxy for. I had my left humerus and each hip socket radiated for cancer flare ups and pain. The radiation did wonders for the pain. My hips will sometimes ache and there is one place in my back that if I sit too long it gives me grief. I premedicate on long trips etc. So I understand your reluctance to go under the knife. The recovery time is long and the potential for infection is possible. It is true that pinning before it breaks is a whole lot easier then repairing a break after it happens. Anyway I thought I would tell you my experience.
Hang in there girl. We all pray for you and admire your spirit and feisty loving nature. It's hard and you have been through so much. Sending you hugs and fortitude for support. Lots of love rosevalley

Patty, I'm so happy to hear you are feeling better and doing all the family stuff that makes life so special. I totally get how you don't wan to spoil your summer with that surgery. Just be SUPER careful and nurse yourself to the fall when it might be easier to contemplate. Those home videos always get me teared up and a almost afraid to pull them out right now. I don't want to have an emotional meltdown on my family right now which I still do every so often. Feel lucky to have them though and I wish I could rewind too Patty!
Mike sounds awesome! Especially for 200! Been through a whole lot and can still humor us along. I hope he sticks around!

Dear Patty,
Climbed up on the roof to bring these catalpa blooms to you.
Hope you enjoy the lush green as the desert moves through Spring into Summer soon.
Surrounding you and your family with healing light, Stephanie

Hi Patty! How are you and your boys? Do you have any events coming up for end of school year?
Last Friday DD1, in 11th grade, was inducted into the National Art Honor Society. There was an art show, some poetry reading, and then a nice induction ceremony. DD1 had two pieces in the art show.
Last Saturday DD2, in 9th grade, was inducted into the International Thespian Society.
Tonight is DD1's Jr/Sr Prom. She's wearing a "Princess" dress that is a peachy-pink, her flowers are pale pink, and her hair is aquamarine. She is soooooo excited.
Thinking of you, sweetie.

Patty - so nice to see updates from you. I'm glad you had a few good days and that you were were spoiled in the appropriate fashion!
Here is a black-crowned night heron that i captured with my phone this past weekend. First one I've ever seen! Usually they are reclusive, but this one seemed pretty at-ease around people.

Hi Patty,
I'm hoping you're recovering your strength and having a relaxing weekend with your boys, all 3 of them (sons plus hubby). I often say "boys" when I'm talking about my son and husband together, they are like two peas in a pod sometimes.
Here's a lovely mini-garden outside a restaurant downtown Spring Lake.
It's so pretty with a fountain in the middle.
Sending you much strength, love, and especially prayers. Wishing each day brings you joy and beauty. Hoping to hear from you soon.
Much love,
Madelyn
