Hello all,

I am new here and this is my story; In 2014 I had a CNB which revealed PASH. 6 months later my mammo and u/s showed no signs of growth or change. A year and a few months after the 6 mo. check up the tumor had grown and is now 2.7 x 2.0 x 1.6 cm. My gynecologist advised me to see a general surgeon to have the tumor removed. I live in a small town and I am not sure if I am comfortable with a general surgeon here doing anything to my breast. I am now in contact with Loyola and hopefully will be consulting with one of their breast specialists - who has actually heard of PASH and dealt with it before. It has been pretty hard to get much information on this benign disorder or find others who have PASH as well. I am on here hoping to find others in my situation who may have more information or at the very least like to share their story.

PASH is a benign growth which is supplied by estrogen. This leads me to other questions, what happened that I have enough estrogen to spur on something growing in my body? I am 13 years post PAH (partial abdominal hysterectomy), have one ovary, and am 46 years of age - so why now?

TIA to anyone with any thoughts in regards to what seems to be a rare condition of the breast.

    Wendy,

    I had PASH (2010). Considering your age, (which, also was the same as when my PASH was found), most likely due to you heading into peri-menopause, even with your partial.

    Mine never grew, intact it ended up going way on it's own, which sometimes it does. Not uncommon for them to grow, though either. Considering yours is growing probably very prudent to remove it (you don't want it to hide other areas of concern).

    I do agree with your thoughts about seeking out a breast specialist, though. Not completely necessary, but I know it's what I would prefer.

    Thanks for your response. I did make an appointment with a breast specialist today, I don't go in for a few weeks, but I feel positive about the situation. I am resigned to the fact that it probably needs to come out, mainly for the reason you mentioned.
