My wife has passed
5/6/16 Katie went to her "New Home" as she put it. She was an amazing mother, wife, and aunt. She loved our son Leo more than anything here on earth. When Katie first was diagnosed, her #1 goal was to see him turn 10. She felt that he would be old enough to remember her, and strong enough to cope with her loss. She enjoyed some wonderful times and battled through much adversity to make sure that happened, but she accomplished her goal. She fought hard for 5 years and made lifelong memories for me, Leo, and her friends. Her legacy of living for the moment lives on with all who knew her. We love you Katie Jo and we will see you again.
My wife started coming to these boards about five years ago. I originally signed up for her account to find out what I could do to help her during her chemo treatments. She then took the account over. She made many friends and lost many over that time. She did not come on much after Lilylady passed as it affected her deeply. She would have been 39 in 2 weeks.

Oh, I am so sorry to read the news. The signature line of "My wife has tiger blood." always stood out to me as in, "she is tough." and I drew strength from that. You have my deepest condolences and many prayers for you and your son as well as your wife's other loved ones. May the memories of the times you shared be of comfort to you. She was blessed to have the love and support of her husband and son

I am so sorry to hear this. I would always look for Katie's posts because I am originally from Ohio and have little kids too. So I felt a little bit of kinship with her. I am so glad that she made it until her son was 10, I know how important some of those goals for our children are, she really did have tiger's blood. May you and your son find comfort in your wonderful memories of Katie.
-
I am so sad to read this. TigerBlood was the one who treated herself to a new purse after she finished chemo treatment, and encouraged me to reward myself after my treatment too. A habit was born and continues to this day. Thank you, Katie! I can't imagine how much you will be missed by your young family. My sincere condolences to everyone who knew and loved Katie Jo.
Rose.

Life is so unfair....39 years old just makes me so sad and mad. I am glad she saw her son turn ten but wait for the day we all get to see all of life's moments happen. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. May you and your son continue the legacy your lovely wife helped create and find peace and comfort in life.
-
Words, however kind, can't mend your heartache, but those who care and share your loss wish you comfort and peace of mind.
May you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends.
Words cannot express my sadness. May the comfort of God help you through this difficult time.

I did not have the chance to meet Katie on the boards. I watched the photo slides. Beautiful young woman, beautiful spirit, beautiful family, beautiful life. My deepest condolences.

My sincere condolences, may she now rest and may you and your son be able to pick up the pieces of your own lives now and carry on as she would have wanted. All we here wish we could be there to give big hugs and support close up. Hopefully our words here may be a small comfort. RIP Katie-Joe.

I also loved Katie's "Tiger Blood" strength. Knowing her fierce love for her son made it all just make sense. My heart breaks that this disease has taken her from you two...who meant the world to her...and for us, who grieve another sister who's left this life too soon. I pray her passing was peaceful...that you had time to hold each other close. What a gift that she knew she had a new home awaiting...one with no pain or suffering. May you feel her love always. Thank you for your message...she will be part of us forever.
