I'm depressed and I want to stop treatment and surgery

hi trish - Glad you had a little bit of peace. I'm rooting for you. It is wonderful to have a great relationship with one's kids. When I was in bad shape and told my Stephen Minister I just wanted to end it, she told me in no uncertain terms that would be very selfish and a terrible legacy for my kids. I was a bit taken aback. But, she was right. From then on I just prayed for God to take me. He didn't. (Obviously.)
I hope a workable solution presents itself very soon. Gentle hug.

Trish, don't understand estimate the stress your ex husband is causing your health. You come first, you need the support to get thru this. I really believe my husband and the stress he was putting me through was why I got breast cancer. I know now what I need.
-
ok ladies update on my situation. He left me and our kids. But not before he got his hands on my disability for the month. I had chemo yesterday and while I was gone he slipped in the house grabbed clothes tools and his toothbrush and all the bills which are all in his name. Nobody will give me any info on anything because I'm not on any of the accounts at all. I tried to just not think about anything yesterday and tried to get some sleep last night and thought well I'll just try to think of what to do today. Well it's today and I'm kind of freaking out because nothing is coming to mind. My dad is out of state fishing so I don't have him to talk to which I'm sure that wouldn't help anyway. I have nobody else and I'm drawing all blanks in my head. Treatment makes me pretty scatter brained for a few days anyway and now it's not even been 24 hours and I'm have to make some plans somehow. I have kids in school. They need to eat and have a roof and electricity and so on. Help!

Do you have joint bank accounts? Did you have an attorney for your divorce settlement? I would make some calls and explain your financial position and see what can be done for support from your ex husband. Probably some social services person can get you started.
-
We have been divorced since 09 and I just filed and did it on my own. I got hung with all the debt to just get him to stop fighting it. We haven't had joint anything since then. He basically owns me.
-
Wow Trish. I would start a gofund me account. Seriously. A month of no money?? Wow. Seriously, that should be your next step. Spread the word on this account so people can help. I've seen people give for absurb reasons and strangers giving too. Many people surf the gofund me to see who they can help, who's in need. If you post your whole story on it from having bc to abuse to kids to no money this month I'm betting you'll get a lot of help. Please do this, and post your account info here so we can help too.
-
You are going to need some help from someone legal. He owes child support no doubt and has run off with YOUR money. At the very least, you want a freeze on those accounts until there is some resolution. Then I would contact every social service non-profit in your area looking for both material and cash help. Call all of them. Ask your friends to help.... bring a casserole, some mac and cheese, etc. Then call food banks and churches that have meals for free and put together a schedule that provides food for the children.
All the best...
-
And perhaps change your locks.
-
can I actually do that gofundme thing? Where do you do that like on Facebook? I truly have no pride left what so ever and he has ripped me to pieces in text everyday and today I am having to beg him for grocery money. Which so far he hasn't brought me any. I would literally do anything at this point to get us out of his house. I have tried to find help for a year and have been turned down for everything because I live in his house.
-
OMG yes you can do the gofund me. You're like the ideal to receive lots of help. People ask for funds for all kinds of reasons. The ones that get the most help are those under medical/emergency type situations. Do set it up and post that you've done so on fb with a link to it (hopefully you have one), let all your friends and fam know. Post link here. If I were you being in emergency situation, I would ask the mods if you can create a new thread and where to put it so more people here could have the opportunity to help. I know I saw one gofund me thread that was approved. Otherwise if they say no, post the link here for sure.
Write as much detail on everything like you did here so people have the full picture. Do this. People will help and you can't be waiting for him or agencies to step in quick enough. They don't. So do this to help you and your kids.

Trish - In the mean time maybe try to make it to a church food pantry. I know they'll help with some groceries. Our church just requires some proof that you live in the city, like a driver's license or a bill. I bet you could call the church if you are not able to get out, tell them your situation, and then you can send one of the kids. Here is a local church that has one.

When you do your Go-Fund-Me make sure you open a separate account in your name only that he cannot touch. Call the utility company they will leave your electric on and Mortgage lender/Landlord to stop any eviction. Have your disability depositd in an account with only your name on it.
-
How do I title that go fund me? What do I put as money goal?
-
I think something like abused have cancer w/kids urgent help w/ basics. I don't know if there's a limit on how long, but make sure to but you're abused, have cancer, have kids, and urgent need for basic needs. As for what to ask, put down what it takes for you to have your and your kids needs met, bills, food, etc easily paid. Don't worry about asking for too much. People will give only what they can so put down a higher amount as you can use it. Check out the page and click on emergencies. That's where I would post it. See how much folks are getting. I think you'd get a lot of help. Just need to give every detail like you have in this thread.
-
If they are divorced how can he clean out her gofundme account? It's in her name and she needs to have her own account for the funds.
Regadless I agree on working with the advice given for immediate help, but set the account up. People are getting nice sums of money to help.

I feel you but I did decide to continue on with treatment and all the rest of this nightmare that is ahead. I have six of my second round of chemos left now then a few weeks after that my first surgery. My kids dad was sucking my will to live out of me but I have 3 kids I refuse to leave behind with him. My life is hell right now but I can't blame it on cancer or treatment. Its was already hell. At least maybe if I beat this crap and survive getting him away from us I might have a chance at a happy future instead of the future I knew I had ahead of me. Right now I'm facing homelessness and where our next meal is going to come from but at this moment he is gone. Its all going to get worse I'm sure before it gets better but I so hope it's going to get better. He's out running with woman and living the life while I'm sitting here bald fat ugly and worrying myself to death about my kids. Someday he will need someone to care for him so I hope these chicks are prepared because his family ie me and his kids are out!

HAVING A VERY BAD DAY!
