Are steroids always given with chemo?

Or can I opt out of those? Have had very bad reactions to them in the past (worsened my bipolar disorder to the point where I had to be hospitalized)

    It depends on which chemo. You should discuss this with your doc/nurse. For many they will want you on them for about three days but can often adjust the dose if you have problems in either direction (like you need more due to nausea or other side effects or you can or need a bit less due to other reasons).
