I know you don't like it, Katy, but I wish I had retained more chemo-curl. I think you look great.
-
Thanks, K. I want to cut it short like yours. Need to find a hairdresser I trust. It's on the to-do list. I will show them your picture as an example. You are rocking it!
-
Susan: Did you have short hair before chemo?
Katy: I think you and I win the curly contest!
Theresa: Looks so healthy.
-

-
You look fantastic, Allison! Our hair isvery similar but you "wear it better"!
-
Thanks, Katy. I am blow drying the top with a round brush to smooth it and letting the rest go curly. It looks more like an intentional style that way, I think.
-
-
Bekah and Allison, looking sharp!
Yes, I've worn my hair short since I was 18, when it one day occurred to me that I could.
-
Bekah: It's straight in the front and curly in back?
-
Ksusan, since you have gotten haircuts, are the ends less curly and frizzy? I'm still holding out for getting a trim.
-
Yes. The only curl I really have left is at the tips of my bangs.
-
Italy chick I was wondering if you ever found out what the pressure was from I have the same issue it seems in my left eye going to the dr tomorrow had a clean brain mri last year but so nervous something is going on my dr blamed dry ey
-
Allsion - I use a flat iron on the top and sides otherwise I look like a poodle. I just don't have the energy (or care enough) to straighten the back too!
-
Stephmoen I never figured out what caused it, but I had a clean brain MRI and I had the radiologist meet with me to go over the results in person because I wanted to look at the images with him. I do have a cyst in my sinus which he said is completely boring and benign and lots of people have them, so I just figure maybe that is causing it. I got a referral to have it removed if it bothers me, but I haven't done anything yet.
-
Bekah, thanks for the info. It was my FVC that dropped. I said 75; I was wrong (chemo rain... Knew it was down 25) it went from 105% to 80%. My#s were:
FVC 80%. FEV1: 78%. FEV1/FVC: 96
PEF 111%. FEF 25-75: 72%
Those numbers probably mean way more to you than me! I just know they decreased, but were still good enough to do my job!!!!
Here's my hair selfie: I straighten the front too.
-
Karen, that's definitely some decrease due to restriction, probably from radiation, and it may improve a little over the next few years as things loosen up. However, you're right...it still pretty good and shouldn't be a problem for your job. Otherwise, your numbers look great

So much fun seeing all of you with hair although you guys looked pretty good bald. Me, not so much.
Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day.
-
Awesome. Thanks! I have my follow up with RO's PA on Thursday. I am interested to hear what she has to say about it. They pretty much tell you that you'll get a little pink....and that's it. It'll be interesting to see if she acknowledges that it could be from radiation. It was necessary and beats cancer, so it is what it is. It just would be nice to see them acknowledge that there are indeed side effects! There will be no denying the "rock" that sits on my chest that was once a squishy implant!
-
I've hit the wall with my hair. Just can't take it any more. Called my stylist. Going in right now, clutching a pic of KSusan!
-
Good luck!

-
