Reconstruction for double mastectomy

I had BC in the right breast and had radiation. My surgeon has advised that a latissimus dorsi would be an option as well as Tug (thigh) although not many surgeons are experienced in this where I live.

I'm also thinking of having a mascretomy on the left side, due to calsifications previously found. In this case I'm thinking a direct impact under the muscle.

I'm just wondering what ladies have had in terms of reconstructions for a double mastectomy, have you had the same procedure on both sides or different? Pros/cons

I'm reluctant to have a muscle taken from a donor site (and potentially mobility problems) for both breasts just for the sake of symmetry, but does having two different methods look/feel totally different.

    I had a bilateral mastectomy with the cancer in the right and my size we just took both. My PS wanted to do the back flap on my right, which has been radiated and an implant on my left. I too was concerned about symmetry. PS said would prob look better due to the radiated side is more prone to problems. I still said no. I'm right handed and work on the computer and don't want issue with muscles on my right. I am going to do low profile round silicone implants. I have to try this first. If it works great, if there's issue with the right then I cross that bridge when the time comes! You have to do what's good for you-it's your body! Hope this helped a little
