Third diagnosis

just found out I have IDC for the third time. Both recurrences have occurred in the reconstructed breast. Just starting the work- up now so don't know what's in store. Anyone have a similar history?

    I am so sorry to hear of your recurrence. Did you have a mastectomy or lumpectomy? I had a bilateral mastectomy in 2013 after IDC diagnosis. Always worried about a recurrence or new cancer. When was your initial diagnosis? Praying for your strength as you go through this horrible ordeal another time.

    How does IDC come back when they took all of our breast tissue? So confused.

    Hi guys...IDC can occur after BMX because they can never get out all your breast tissue. IMO the more skilled the surgeon the less breast tissue is left. This is an important factor when choosing your surgeon. Good luck to all....

    I met with a new(to me) surgeon last week. He plans to do a wide excision, with more axillary node clear-up. I thought they had al been removed 15 years ago, but apparently not. Both the surgeon and the radiologist thought that this might actually be a lymph node, now about 2 cm. surgery scheduled for May 31
