hi Busgirl406, it's been a long time since chemo but I don't remember my hands & feet itching like that. Would putting them in a basin of cool water bring relief? Maybe contact your onc's on-call nurse and ask about it. That's gotta be annoying. Best wishes!

i read it can be part of hand / foot syndrome.

I did soak my feet and hands then applied a natural cream and went to bed.

I also took a benadryl, but need to contact the nurse today.

    Thank you for responding

There are times I itched like mad during and even after chemo. It's pretty much resolved now.

Busgirl - when I was on Taxoterrible/Cytoxan in 2013, I became allergic to Taxotere afte round 3 (rash on hands and feet). Onc gave me meds (Atarax) and more steroids so I finished 6 rounds. What chemo are you on? Please call your onc.

Busgirl 406: Did your hand and foot itching resolve? I am on weekly Taxol/Herceptin, and form week #1 I had a rash and itching hands, but Benadryl took care of that and I take it each week for 4 days after chemo (and get it during chemo.) But then, after #5, this past week, I got uncontrollable heel itching, along with redness, and pain. It lasted, in varying degrees, for several days. Tried creams and Bendryl, but I'm not sure anything worked. It mostly wore off after 2 days, but I have residual heel pain, almost a bone pain. My MO says it is likely hand/foot syndrome, which can happen with several different types of chemo. Hope you are doing better!

Busgirl....I don't want to scare you but itching in hands and feet can be a sign of neuropathy. Try taking an antihistamine both orally and topically. However if they don't help speak with your doc. I hope I'm wrong but I thought you should be aware. Good luck and keep us posted.
