It has been a whirlwind since my diagnosis a week ago. Breast surgeon, MO, ultrasounds, chest x-ray, and MRI of my spine. Now, finally and hopefully, a little ray of light. Husband and I are off to see the new high-risk OB who agreed to take me and my baby girl. Please send positive vibes/prayers our way that all is well and this will be a positive OB given the situation.

THank you! Everything went great and we got to see the baby on ultrasound. She was moving all over the place! Now I'm preparing for the MO appointment tomorrow.

dear hiker chic. How was the high risk ob? There is a maternal fetal medicine dept at innova hospital in Alexandria if that is close to you. It's called the Brock center. I would recommend them. Hope all is well with you and your baby. Hugs.

Thank you Maggie and Laura. So far everything is great. I have a high risk OB who is very caring and a maternal fetal medicine team on board too. Last Tuesday and Friday completed my first round of ACF, and I see maternal fetal medicine this coming Friday for followup. I feel terrible subjecting her to this, but I can't postpone treatment.

Laura - If I lived closer to the Metro DC area, I would definitely be going to Alexandria. However, I left that area in 2006 and now live near Blacksburg (Virginia Tech area). We actually talked to Dr Udoff (?sp) at Fairfax Genetics and IVF after dx to see if any options for fertility preservation, but as I am already pregnant and 45 years old, the options are slim. This little girl I am carrying is our biggest hope!
