Newly diagnosed stage 4 breast cancer
Hello everyone. My name is Melanie but I go by Lanie, and I'm newly diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that mestastatsized to my brain. It was the seizure that saved my life.
I had brain surgery to remove a malignant lesion on the right frontal lobe. All went well and I had 3 rounds of radiation.
When I got the diagnosis, I was so scared but calm. My doctors told me I'll never be cured, but I'm treatable. I just started chemotherapy, every Friday for 3 weeks, then 1 week off, for 6 cycles. I just turned 40 and have an amazing family and friends by my side. I'm staying positive and going to stay strong.
I'm happy to have found this community and looking forward to giving support as we battle this war together.
