Wonderland, DD should have had a fun (if cold) time at the game. They did a bunch of Prince tributes & won in the bottom of the 9th with a home run! What other things is she doing? Minneapolis is a fun town!

Balthus ditto what Ruth and Patoo said, sometimes I look at myself in the mirror at the gym and I see this lop sided figure looking back at me and I think gawd maybe I should have reconstruction but nobody but me seems to notice.

Tonight did 30 minutes of Body Jam and left as I wasn't feeling it, my body is tired and my feet sore as I spent the day sweeping and cleaning the concrete floor of my warehouse as we are having a coffe and donut memorial tomorrow morning for my friends husband, he always brought donuts in on a tuesday, he didn't want a funeral just a coffee and donut send off so we will honor his wishes tomorrow morning, so bittersweet.

Aw Cheryl, that's sweet. I walked after supper last night (in a white t-shirt, tucked into jeans. Got a quizzical look from a little girl but no one else seemed to notice my flat chest. I'm 6 yrs out & past the point of caring.) 5.03 miles for the day = 10,641 steps.

p.s. LOVE the Prince bill ~ 19.99 indeed!

TwoHobbies - our Racing Presidents Washington and Jefferson do look very much alike so it's easy to mistake them for each other. Teddy and Abe are much more distinguishable.

    image

Ruth - forgot to tell you that for the Nats-Twins first game last Friday, the Nats played Prince songs while the Twins were taking their batting practice. Love the $19.99 bill. Cheryl - how long did Hannah last at Sunday's game?? And I think the doughnut tribute to your friend's husband is great - exactly what he wanted and something everyone will enjoy as they remember him.

30 minute run this morning - first time there's been some summer-like humidity. Ugh. Claire - I thought of you as I said good morning to some deer I passed by.

Your Donut Memorial sounds wonderful and fitting, Cheryl. It sort of reminds me of my aunt's final demand (not request) that EGG SALAD SANDWICHES be served at the luncheon after her funeral. I image I would have to have cake (with real frosting, not the butter cream).

Went to Cardio Sculpt this morning. Our teacher just got certified in POUND (you do exercises with drumstick looking sticks), so she is going to incorporate some of that into the class. Sounds interesting. I have spent the rest of the day looking at white paint (there are hundreds, if not thousands, of shades of white. ARGH!!). I have a meeting tonight so have to miss Barre. Boo Hoo!

Mary, the Twins did a great tribute to Prince in Minneapolis last night before and all throughout the night. After 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' they are adding 'Red Corvette' to the 7th inning stretch from now on. I don't know how to copy over videos but you could google it.

    Mary, such cute pics!!!

Wonderland, wow such a neat picture of Prince!!

Badger, I am as flat as a pancake, I sometimes get a few looks!!

When I wear my bathing suit down at the pool, I jump in right away, he,he,he!!

Exercise today was volunteering at our church Thrift Shop, running up and down the stairs.

Masters Tennis class this morning (shorter 60 foot court and side, doubles, lines are borders for the width). I've never played tennis so this will be a challenge, but fun.

    Night sculpted friends.

Friends - any good suggestions for a YouTube or DVD that I can use for some low impact cardio when we have days of rain and/or late work days I can't get to the gym? Trying not to lose my momentum. Thanks.

Both Denise Austin and Leslie Sansone have good walk in the living room DVDs. You can pick from 1 mile up to 5 miles. You can find those DVDs at Walmart & stores like that. Richard Simmons has some great low impact easy dancing DVDs that you can order off his website.

I actually like to do salsa dancing videos on YouTube for exercise. Its quite fun! I'm unmotivated today after the 40 degree drop in temperature and gray skies so perhaps I'll have to do that this evening.

Love the new Prince bill, Ruth! Very cute.

I love the donut and coffee memorial. I guess mine will have to be margaritas and chips and guac. I'll bring in a big crowd!

Rain is in the forecast for the next few days so that is going to mess up with my walking!!! Friday and Saturday are the last two days of Passover so holy days....more cooking again, but not as much as I did for the first days and the sedar!! I said I wasn't going to bake more Passover cookies but we were out and I did....and I know half will get thrown out as after Passover no one wants to eat them!!! Oh well....

Had my EOY conversation with my supervisor....we used to be team mates so that is good....evaluation was good...now I have to do the self-evaluation and the student growth objectives I wrote. I gave her my documents for the portfolio. Next year, I'll have to be better and gather things throughout the year....

Tired, but waiting for the clothes in the dryer to finish drying. Hope to check in tomorrow before candle lighting.

Hi all, Finally back to walking again. Thank you so much for kind thoughts regarding my friends. The memorial service for the woman who died of breast cancer started out with some excitement--a wild storm started literally the moment one of the speakers started off the service with howling wind and lightening. So, maybe she was listening! She was such a dynamic person--wrote 36 books (!), was an innovator in photography, and she was a fabulous artist. The other friend was also a force--she produced a documentary film on San Miguel de Allende called Lost and Found in Mexico and she ran one of the film festivals here. Both were huge losses and were wonderful, kind women--they will be sorely missed. Hbcheryl -- the party for the second woman was phenomenal and more of a celebration with her favorite music and dancing, good food and an alter in her honor. I think a party like that or a sweet memorial such as for your friend's husband are the best--no sad speeches.

I've been trying to stay on top of my mood and not get into too deep a depression but it has been hard, and i am sorry I am so far behind on this forum again. My friend's boyfriend was just diagnosed with aggressive thyroid cancer metastases to the lungs, and it seems the drumbeat does not stop. I have asked the Grim Reaper to cut it out for a while--come on--Prince?!

I admire so much what some of you women can accomplish while you are doing chemo or dealing with other health issues, so I have no excuse. Carol: You come to mind (welcome, btw) as well as the girl with prosthetic legs who ran a 10k marathon! (thank you for recounting the story, hbcheryl). Ginger: It's so amazing that your friend raised over $13k for the Dana Farber marathon.

Natsfan: Congrats on doing the 10k race! That takes some real courage. I also enjoyed your photos of your staff coming out for Autism Awareness Day.

Scottiemom: So glad that you and your hubbie passed your colonoscopies!

Pattoo: It does sound like you have a lot of fun activities to engage in and the Masters' Class in Tennis sounds great! Tennis is such good exercise and builds nice leg muscles ;-).

Twohobbies: I love that you do salsa dancing to videos. I must try that. I usually go to a club on Thurs. nights for salsa dancing but never thought of doing it for exercise at home.

Claire: Your steak recipe sounds so yummy! I will try next time I have steak (I try to limit to 2x per month).

Hbcheryl and Wonderland: I am doing a lot of yardwork as well and have also been cleaning my roof tiles. It does count as a good workout! I am worn out afterwards.

Ruth and Wonderland: Thanks for the fabulous photos. I enjoyed seeing photos of Paisley Park.

Karen: Keep up the good work--27k steps is incredible!

I am sorry that some of you (Badger, Twohobbies and others) experiencing high cholesterol. I haven't had mine tested in years and am getting tested next week. Thanks for the table of ranges, Twohobbies--I was borderline in the past. Crossing my fingers it is improved. I am getting many tests done next week: ultrasounds of auxiliaries, liver and transvaginal exam. Breast MRI (first ever--yikes--I am claustrophobic), bone density test and slew of blood tests. Nervous because of horrific scanxiety and the waiting period.

    Have a great day everyone!

Hugs to you katcar, and yes, I think the grim reaper could knock it off for awhile too. The husband of my good friend who died 3 years ago (and the nicest man in the whole world) was just diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Sadness. I am trying to gird up my loins (whatever that means) to talk to him.

Cardio Sculpt this morning & now back to look for bathroom paint colors. I had picked (according to the sample) a nice fresh green. It looked suspiciously bright when I painted the linen closet last night, but I thought maybe it was the lighting and/or maybe it would dry lighter. NO.... this morning it looks like a NEON green!!!!!

katcar....27K is an exception...only cuz I walked 3 miles each way to my mom's apt.

Snow in the forecast for tomorrow...Denver is supposed to get 3 to 6 inches of snow tomorrow and another inch or 2 at night...rain tonight turning to snow around 5 am....wet heavy snow..then rain again on Sunday....and by next Wednesday and Thursday 80!! Gotta love the bi-polar Denver weather. This weather is really going to mess with my walking over the next couple days!!!

Won't be back till Saturday night as its the last 2 days of Passover....Have a good week-end.

Karen: Keep enjoying Passover. Good job on your evaluation.

Katcar: You sound so sad and you have a right to be. Glad you were able to go to the memorial services for your friends. They sound like exceptional women our world will miss. Sorry about your friend's boyfriend. Good luck on all your tests next week. I have had 2 breast MRIs only bc there was a mistake with the first one and I had to have it repeated (at no cost). I listened to music during it but could hardly hear it when the machine got loud. The music did help me, though.

Patoo: How is your tennis coming along?

Ruth: Sorry about your friend's husband. NOT fair. Dd loved her visit at Minneapolis. They went to the Twins game, Prince's house, ate a Jucy Lucy, visited U. of Minnesota, toured Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, shopped at the Mall of America (even rode on the roller coaster), and ate cheese curds!

Badger: As you know Merefest started today. We were going to go for the day but decided not to bc of the weather. There's always next year!

Cheryl: Now that's a Memorial service!

Nats: Great picture of you and your co-workers.

I developed poison ivy a week and a half ago doing yard work either during our community service at the library or in our backyard. There's poison ivy at both places. I had on gloves, long sleeve sweatshirt, long pants but still got it. It's been terrible! Yesterday I decided I needed to go to the doctor. I received a steroid shot and and steroid pills. Slowly getting better.

I walked/ran early this afternoon bc bad weather was in the forecast. It was 82, hazy, and humid. Ugh. Today is a reminder that summer is on its way. Rain did arrive and now it's cooler.

Oh no!!! Poison ivy is the pits. Worse than radiation. One of the things I don't miss living here.

Have been reading and catching up. Busy week, but making headway. Trudged through my 5k run tonight, so down to lifting weights before dinner.

I have learned that we need to live to our fullest each day. Because nothing is guaranteed.

My Subaru WRX (Rexxie) is happy to have a new timing belt and told me that he will be around for quite some time. So happy as actually don't like the newer models as well, to say nothing of being thrilled to postpone getting a new car for a couple of years at least. I do want wheels that get me out to all my activities and over the mountain passes in winter. I need to get him to the U-Detail-It place for a spa day.

Next in line for the shop is my bicycle. Need my shifters replaced. My real boast is that I spend more on bicycle tires than on car tires!!!

Have a wonderful evening everyone. Dinner awaits (bacon blue cheeseburgers....the best ones ever, and they need to be used). - Claire

Just back from an amazing concert experience. One of the best live shows I've ever seen. Check out Dailey & Vincent if you get the chance! A bit too keyed up for bed so thought I'd catch up here. It was an active day: 14,920 steps = 7.06 miles.

((katcar)) hugs and glad you're back to walking. Wonderland sorry about the poison ivy, been there and it's the pits. Does it always rain for Merlefest? Ruth sorry about your friend's DH and bummer about the neon green paint. At least it's only adorning a closet for now. Good night ladies, I'm thankful for you all. ♥

I found a lighter, nicer green on the same color strip; so I think I can leave the neon green in the closet and it won't clash with the rest of the room if someone should look into it. I am going to yoga this morning and then get that room knocked out.

    Your concert sounds great, badger!

Walked again today although I felt so stiff all over like I was 90--that is new... side effect of Tamoxifen or out of shape? It has been really hot here, so it was nice to walk while still fresh outside.

Having lunch today with a friend who also has (had?--never know how to describe it) bc, so it will be good to be with someone whom I don't have to pretend everything is perfect.

Wonderland: So sorry about the Poison Ivy! I hear it's like chicken pox--miserable! Hope it goes away quickly.

Badger: Sounds like you went to a really cool concert!

Ruth: Glad you found the green that is just right! I painted a green wall once--it was so garden green that when I came home there were green crickets on it! They loved it. I did not and promptly painted over it! hehe

    hey all!

Been AWOL for around 14 pages again but do catch up occasionally through my email notifications

Poison ivy sucks! Cancer sucks! Losing wonderful friends to cancer sucks! So glad for these wonderful threads where we can have virtual small group therapy. Sounds like y'all are keeping busy - wow.

I've actually been working out nearly every day again - YAY! Energy level is soooo much better since getting the CPAP device - unbelievable!

DS gets married in June so now that I have more energy I'm hoping to tone up a bit by then. DD just accepted a job offer back at GTMO (Guantanamo Bay). Two year commitment. She absolutely loves it there so I'm happy for her but a little sad for me😢.

Looking forward to seeing some of you again in October!

    G'night all 😴😴😴😴

Hello everyone! Boy I missed a lot this week!

Wonderland- Poison ivy sounds terrible! Hope the effects subside soon.

Badger- your concert sounds nice, it must have been fun.

Ruth-Enjoy your yoga class. You are always keeping it fresh.

Katcar- It must be nice to visit with someone that understands.

Claire-I dread getting my car worked on. It seems that there is always more needing to be fixed than what was first thought.

Sweetandspecial-Exercise is good for the mind and body

I have been walking and at the gym all week. My DD had her birthday, so we celebrated with a special meal. My son had his baseball season come to an end. Lots of fun with the end of the school year.
