IDC and chances of spreading?
My recent MRI showed that my tumor is near 5cm (just the one area, no others in either breast) and since one axuilary node came back positive (actually benign but showed early cell chances) they want to do a PET scan to check other areas of metatisizing. They are calling it triple negative but there was some weak response to both hormones and totally negative to HER2. This has me worried
I'm wondering if others here have had similar results and then found the cancer had spread. Any info would be great! Thanks

Hi. I was diagnosed with IDC with a 5cm tumour and HER2 positive with 2 nodes cancerous .
Before chemo I had CT scan of bones and scan if chest , abdo area to see if the cancer had spread.
All clea, however I am having 6 mths of chemo which was after a double mastectomy just incase there are little floaties that scans can't pick up.
Good luck, its a very worrying time and all I day is one step in front of the other.

hi,
I now have a tumor on my spine. I don't know what the Drs are going to do, but I have begun to fall apart. Had uterine cancer in fall, told I was "cured" in December. Next, diagnosis of breast cancer. Had surgery. Recovering before treatment. Now huge tumor on spinebetween shoulder blades. Had pain there for two months. No pain now just a huge growth. Appointment with team tomorrow. Don't know how to proceed. First time I'm feeling helpless.
Suggestions?

Hi Nextyear. Sorry for all the angst. I'm not really sure how BC typically presents in the spine. I'm sure some of the ladies on the stage IV threads could help. Here is a link to a thread where you could post your question.

I know the fear is paralyzing. Do you have any anti-anxiety meds? I really recommend them, especially in the early days.
I'm glad you found this site. There is a lot of love and support here. Just put one foot in front of the other. That's all you can do right now.
Good luck with your appointment. I hope you get some answers. Please let us know how it goes. Gentle hug.
