"Stranding" on CT scan

I was diagnosed with DCIS two years ago and elected bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. In the interest of saving time and not boring you with the details, in short 8 surgeries, diagnosed with MRSA and one biopsy later, I was having pain and swelling on DCIS side. I decided to see the oncologist about this, thinking I was having lymphadema. Being cautious, she ordered vascular study (no blood clot) and CT scan. Today, I get the report that radiologist saw "stranding" on the ultrasound and can't rule out cancer. So, I am having an ultrasound on wed. What is stranding? Could this be something from the previous problem or something new? I am not worried yet, but concerned. I have learned that nothing is ever easy. Not even DCIS! If you have any feedback, I would so appreciate this.

I think that "stranding" refers to the linear pattern that one sees when the micro-calcifications are distributed in a linear pattern in the milk duct. Sending the very best wishes!
