Can one get lymphedema after a bilateral mastectomy if no lymph nodes were removed?

  Certainly! LE can develope in any area of the body after any surgery (even non invasive surgery) - nodes do not have to be removed. It can also developed after a traumatic injury.

  I am seriously considering BMX for my DCIS treatment. Had LX 2 months ago with no lymph node removal.
