More hugs for you, Nancy. There have been so many times that you've posted, and I've wondered where you got the energy!!! It could be after a long walk or run, a marvelous trip, visits with family, a meeting with your dr, a new tx...you've always been here. Now, I search for a word from you. Artist said it too...you've been here with/forus...I pray you feel us there for you.

Nancy, I feel like I have known you for years through the different threads we have both visited on BCO. I had narrowed down the number of threads I looked at to just a few because it is so easy to spend literally hours reading in the middle of the night. It was just this morning I saw your thread. I have read from the beginning - your decision making process, trying ixempra, palliative care, and now hospice. Have also checked your blog and following along. I won't repeat the wonderful things your volumes of BCO friends have said have said about you because it would take FOREVER. I'm sending very gentle hugs so as not to cause pain from that swollen belly of yours. I admire your spirit and tender heart. Thank you for all the time you have shared with others as we all deal with this stupid cancer. Much love to you and all who love you! Glenn

Artist..you have definitely given love, support & comfort many times, many ways. So many of our "mentors" have held our hands...and sadly, so many have left this world, as others have joined us on this path. Jake's last message, last Thursday, gave me a little glimmer of hope that we might hear Nancy's voice again...my hope now is that he is spending his moments making her comfortable & they're filling their arms with each other. Such a beautiful love.

Jake updated the blog. He said Nancy is having a rough time with nausea and stomach pain & while he tries to be upbeat in his posts, Nancy wants him to be upfront...she is ever so strong! He has shown pix of the cards Nancy's gotten & says that she has received them from Germany & Australia (I wondered if they were from our sisters!). They are touched by the outpouring of love...we've been so lucky to have them in OUR lives!!! If you want her address, it's on the blog or you can pm me for it. She lives not too far from many of us...sweet Nancy, we love you. Peace & prayers for pain to subside. Love to Jake & your beloved family.

Thanks AZ, I'll go on there tonight. Thanks RonnieKay, that is very sweet, and back at ya! Nancy just posted something on a new thread about a Clinical Trial site for MBC called Metastatic breast cancer trial search. She is hoping her Onc can find one she can try. I hope so too...

Hi Ladies - I'm here, well sort of, trying to do my best in hospice, but it has been really rough. THANK YOU for all the cards and well wishes here, you gals are so sweet.

As Jake has been reporting, I've had an awful time. My stomach is constantly full and uncomfortable even though I can't eat and barely drink anything. I've lost a bunch of weight and am worried I'm starving to death. I sip on ice chips mostly and sips of juice. We are trying everything, but nothing seems to help and everyday is agony. :-( My doctor may be coming for a visit today, I am so discouraged, but your posts help, thank you ladies.

    Hi Nancy,

It's so good to see your post.  I've been reading your blog and your Husband's updates.  He's doing a good job of keeping everybody informed.  I sent off a card to you yesterday.  I saw the picture of the table with all the cards, and it looks like somebody might have already sent you a card just like the one I sent.  I guess it proves it was a good choice.  LOL!!!

I hope Hospice can come up with something soon to ease your discomfort.  Sounds like you've really been struggling.  You mean so much to so many.  Please know that I think of you quite often.

    Peggy

Nancy...I hadn't been on BCO for over a month..read through several threads and missed you so went in search of you and panicked when I found this thread.  After reading through it, I am heartbroken and in tears. As so many others have said, you are like a shining light for all of us... you are one of the first I remember "meeting" and sharing stories with, and was always, always so inspired by the way you managed to walk, run, work, live, travel... always with a smile on your face and always with a kind word and some wonderful advice.  I was on beautiful spring run yesterday and thought of you....I was so tired and wanting to stop but thought of you (really) and kept going. I am so sad that you are in pain and hoping that they can help you to find some peace and comfort. I can only imagine how hard this is on your husband. I'm just so sorry it took me so long to find this thread... and that I havent' been here sending comforting thoughts and love the whole time. I am now....I will be thinking of you every day... sending much, much love. When we first exchanged PM's it was about climbing mountains, remember.... and I found that quote... "I have been given this mountain so that I might show others how to move it..."... I hope you know that you have helped each and every one of us here by showing us how to move this mountain we all face.  Love and a big hug... Andi

Nancy my heart aches for you and the distress you are experiencing. I pray with all my heart they find relief. There is death with dignity med in Washington if that is a route that your religion, heart and insurance allows. That is my plan when my options are up. It's not for everyone. I am thinking of you and your husband, family and wishing you pain free days and peace. Joining that circle of caring and love here to envelope you. Gentle (((Hugs))). love rosevalley

Nancy, sending gentle hugs. I'm up in the night on my decadron high after chemo today. Thankful that my week off is next week! I think of you often, remembering many of your posts over the years. You have always been so warm and welcoming with the panicked newbies. I hope you know what a pillar of strength you have been to so many of us here! Love, Glenna

Hi Nancy! Just wanted to tell you again that I am thinking about you. I read your whole blog from beginning to end... you have done such incredible things. Loved the pictures from Mt. Adams! And from Washington DC... and of your nieces and nephews... I hope the love from that beautiful family is keeping you warm and peaceful and that you know that all of us here are sending ours as well.

    XO

Dearest Nancy - I have just caught up on your blog and this thread. I am so disheartened to hear that you are in such pain. I was hoping the new pain meds protocol might help. Keep letting your doctor's know how you are feeling. I think of you often and hope you are able to find small joys thoughout the day to sustain you. Hugs from afar, Dond

Nancy, I am sending you good thoughts and warm wishes, along with the hope that your doctor and medical team can alleviate your abdominal distress. I'm wondering whether the area has been scanned for blockages, which could account for these issues. If not, please consider discussing this possibility with your doctor.

Sending you the gentles of hugs.

Nancy, sometimes I think of life as tending and nurturing a garden. It seems to me that you have tended a garden of beauty, kindness, compassion, determination, wit, fortitude, gratitude, joy, and love. How generous of you to share your garden with us! I hope that you always feel the blessings of your well-tended garden. In lovingkindness....
