Parting for you Allison!
Molly, I'm having a really hard time transitioning back into work. I'm only doing 3 days a week but I seriously just don't want to be there and I've had a few mini melt-downs at work. One trick I've tried is to switch most of my meds (except BP and thyroid) to nighttime. That way I'm not thinking about cancer from the minute I take my morning meds. That has helped some. Makes me feel more normal - like before cancer - if those are the only meds I take in the morning.
My boss keeps trying to talk me into counseling but I just don't want to because I think that will make me focus on it even more. Probably backwards psychology, but I just don't feel like counseling will help me right now.

Thought I'd share my post ultrasound de-stress activity. Results next week!
-
Thank goodness Jack appears at the end. I was wondering where he was!
-
Found this handy checklist!
Allison, thinking of you for your surgery tomorrow! Maybe you can hand this to the anesthesiologist (after you wake up, of course!)
-
Exquisite.
-
I NEED THAT!!!
-
And now we lose Prince? Damn, just.....damn.
-
Right? Ugh. I love that man.

Thinking of Allison and her surgery today
-
good morning girls! Pretty nice day in PA but due to rain. Best wishes Allison! And Happy belated Birthday Theresa! Katie love the beach and the card, good luck with test.
I finished herceptin on wed, it was very emotional. My wonderful cousin made a sign and had a balloon and card and funny graduation glasses, I'll try to add a photo. A nice couple who had been in the chemo room offered a prayer afterwards in the parking lot, it was very moving. I'm so happy to be done but have some anxiety of what's next. Port removal on Tuesday yippie! I'm committed to a healthier lifestyle with the gym, yoga and reiki/massage. Taking a class on sat about healing crystals and essential oils.
Anyone still have nail or nose issues? My nails continue to break if they grow even a bit and my nose gets sores I think gfrom hair growth.
-
my nails are still pretty bad.
Allison, how'd surgery go
-
I guess it went ok. He had to fix a hernia, lower my scar and lip and inject fat. He also biopsied a lump and while he thinks it is b9, I can't help but worry. I am sure you guys understand. We are going home tomorrow and I can't wait. This was a little harder than I thought but you don't know what he is going to do until you get there so not much time to mentally prepare yourself. Just want to get off the norco as they make me depressed. Thanks for thinking of me.
Congrats, Maryellen, on finishing Herceptin.
I will check in with you when I get home. I will have lots of free time for a few weeks since I can't workout for a while.

Allison, Hoping for benign results. Sorry you're on the worry train again. When will you get results? Hoping you heal quickly
-
Maybe Thursday or Friday.
-
Good thoughts to you, Allison.
-
trvler, wishing you an uneventful and speedy recovery -- sorry to hear your stage 2 was more convoluted than expected, and hope your mind can rest easy soon
-
Allison, hugs. Fingers crossed for you that all goes well
-
Glad to hear you are doing ok Allison - except for the wating.
I have stupid news. Alan got a little overexcited with renovations on the Arrowhead house. It will not be ready in time for our get together. I burst into tears when he told me. Feeling shitty for ruining everything he is going to pay for us to rent a place. I found one right on the lake - looks fabulous. I'm hoping to get a quick head count so I know if it's the right size. I'm thinking 6/11 through whenever. We could rent it for a week and people stay as long/short as they like. Let me know if you're in, how many, how long. Also we could switch to the following weekend if that is better.
-
I'm in, but he doesn't have to pay. I can contribute. For me it is more that we get together, I don't care if we go tent camping
-
No. He's paying.
T - how many are you and do you have thoughts on specific dates/number of days?
-
just me. If roger comes up there, he will get a different place to stay. I'm open to number of days, but probably 3? Like a long weekend? The weekend of the 10th or the weekend before or after works fine for me. We got up there several times over the summer to hike and stuff, and it is all I have planned for the summer months. So any summer weekend is fine for me
-
I would so love to come but I just don't think I can. That's the last week of school and finding people to watch my kids is hard. If you did it the following week, I might be able to but certainly don't plan around me. Are you talking starting June 11?
lol, at making Alan pay.
I am back home. The trip was pretty easy so that was good and I am off the Norco and just taking Tylenol. (but I am watching my dose, Katy).
-
I wish I could. We will have house guests that week.
-
Grafting done. She took it from my thighs which was a happy surprise. Declared I no longer had enough in my mid-section. Lipo in the legs is so much less painful than that crazy pain from the middle. Although she took way less this time than last time. Feeling pretty good. The foob looks much better. As an additional bonus my normal side got some love. She was confused as to why the surgeon who did my recent biopsy made a new random scar instead of going through the existing scar around my aureola. Then decided to cut out the skin in between the scars and connect them essentially lifting the right side more. So the right side has 1 less scar and looks faker and is higher which makes it look more like my foob.
Feeling well. Hugs to all my sisters
-
Great news, Eileen!
-
Glad it went well and you're feeling well Eileen!
PB
