Had surgery on the 12th, go back for post-op tomorrow. Will find out node status and exact tumor size, etc. I hope they have already ordered the OncotypeDX. I haven't met a Medical Oncologist yet. I have met my Radiation Oncologist already as I know that Radiation was a package deal with the Lumpectomy. Waiting to know if margins are clear. The waiting is the hardest. Estimated tumor size on U/S was 2.1cm.

I was in a similar waiting period like you. Except my doctor had the sentinel nodes tested during surgery. One of them had some cancer in it so he removed 22, all he could find. So I was waiting on edge for the full pathology to come back. The 21 other nodes were all clear (yay!). I had to convince my oncologist to order the oncotype, which came back low risk (yay!). I post my story a lot on here because I feel like a lot of people are pushed into starting treatment without getting all the information about their tumor. It should not be a problem even if they haven't ordered the oncotype yet. Mine wasn't ordered until 2 weeks later. I went a little off standard recommendation by skipping chemo. Biology > Stage in my opinion, and my oncologist was more open to that mindset after the oncotype came back low risk.

Please do not worry too much because you will only end up stressing yourself, especially during this healing time after surgery. Take care and I hope your margins are clear and you have an easy time with radiation.
