Did anyone feel an ache/burn in the breast before diagnosis?

they have been watching an area in my breast for a year and a half, every six months. The biopsy last fall was "probably negative"' they told me. They had a difficult time getting to the area of microcalc's due to its proximity to the chest wall. They placed a clip at that time so they could make sure the biopsy was in the right place....meanwhile, over the last month I have had an achy sometimes burning sensation in a specific spot in that breast. Sometimes I think it goes into my arm, but I can't tell if that is real or in my head. I think I feel a thick area there as well, but maybe it is scar tissue?? The feeling is annoying more than outright painful, although I'm very aware of it if I pick up something to carry and it is pressing on this area (like a bag of groceries). It seems unrelated to my cycle--over the past two weeks i notice it everyday. my diagnostic mammo is tomorrow, and I've tried to remain positive and optimistic, but today I'm terrified. I thought I would reach out to those who may have, unfortunately, dealt with anything similar? Thanks for any responses and have a blessed day.

Lynn

I was on vacation last Nov and that month my left breast felt very swollen, more than usual post ovulation. It has always been the bigger breast of the two. My right is barely a B and the left was always a legit B. I coughed it up to being in a hot and humid place. Always had dense and lumpy breasts that get sore near period. Then had my first mammogram in Dec, the following month. Microcalcifications were found. Then biopsy (first) in Jan confirmed DCIS. MRI found two other locations. Another biopsy confirmed DCIS in another location. Didn’t get third biopsied, by then I moved on and accepted that the boob was diseased throughout. So only in hindsight. . . and not a burn, but definitely something was off. . . and who knows how long it had been growing inside me. . . .

hi Night Owl...the biopsy came back 'sclerosing fibrocystic adenosis'...I am meeting with the Dr next week to discuss. He called result to me yesterday so I didn't have to wait over the weekend. So this doubles my risk but I am learning there is a lot of conflict in the literature on how to approach. I feel a little relieved--but also guarded. I'm trying to learn all I can!! Hope you are well and feeling stronger everyday...
