Very Scared and Very Sad and can NOT Sleep
Hi All,
So, yesterday, I had a mammo and ultrasound. Then was told by the radiologist that a have a "large" area of calcification in my right breast and something that might be a cyst - but it's not clear if it is - in my left breast. He seemed much more serious about the calcification in my right breast and kept using the word "large". (Or that's how I was hearing it).
I'm having a biopsy in a few hours and can't believe my life went from normal to this just like that...
I have a 9 yr old girl. And, I can't put into words how devastated I feel right now. I didn't sleep much at all last night.
I keep think in about how the radiologist said it's a large area of calcification and the look he had on his face when he told me - I'm certain the results will be bad.

Hang in there. Most lumps are benign.... Good luck and keep us posted

Well...I got more information and it is bad. The ultrasound report results was posted on my online health website. Bi-rads 5 and large asymmetrical mass...lining up with the calcifications....
The RN set up an appt. with a breast surgeon...
Please advise...I've been googling this and it looks like a pretty grim outcome...

Did you have your biopsy
-
Yes...I had it today..

I was in your shoes in December. This is a scary and sad time, but I hope you also hold onto lots of hope and the fact that breast cancer treatment has advanced so much. I hope you can take someone with you to your breast surgeon appointment who can take detailed notes - it's a lot of info to take in and helpful to have an objective ear in the room too.
Hold tight - no matter what, you are going to be ok.

Thank-you for your kind words Jennifer, I'm taking my husband, Dad and sister. I hope that is Ok to do that but I feel like I need each of them there because they are all so helpful and much more calm than me!

Scared 67- in your pocket when you go to get your results. Remember, there are many new biological and other treatments...there are so many on these boards who have "been there"...please keep us posted. Hugs!

Thinking of you and hoping you have gotten some answers and know the direction your headed. I am happy to hear you ahve so much support from family, so important. Your GOING to be okay!
This waiting game is SUPER tough-I posted this on a couple other threads, but this is what is going on with me.
I am 51 years old and this past week had a second mammogram for a questionable spot in left breast. I have felt a lump in breast for 6 weeks. The mammogram was followed up with going directly to get an ultrasound which then in turn showed abnormalities and I have a Ultrasound Guided Biopsy scheduled this coming Tuesday the 26th. The waiting is awful! My mind is racing, I am trying to keep busy and at times I can get my mind off of this and at times it is all I am thinking about. I am not sure if it is psycho semantic or what but I am feeling occasional pain in my left breast and a warm sensation, not continuous, but comes and goes. To make matters worse they showed me my mammogram results from 2013 (different hospital) and showed me there was something on that one and that it has grown. Thank you for letting me share. Best wishes to you.
