Just Diagnosed IDC

I'm at such a loss. My IDC is triple negative and they tell me that means it is aggressive. The biopsied both the tumor in my breast which is just smaller than 3cm and one lymph node that showed some abnormality on an ultrasound. The tumor came back with a grade of 3, but the lymph node came back benign with microscopic early signs of cancer. I haven't meet with oncology yet and I am wondering what kind of questions should I ask in regards to my treatment? I've read mixed reviews on Herceptin(?) and its effects on the heart. Thoughts on that too would help.

Thank you!!!

Sorry that you have to be here with us. If you are triple negative, you won't be getting Herceptin. It is only given to those who are HER2 positive.

Being triple negative will mean that Chemo is the big weapon in your arsenal. Hope you get all the answers you need from your oncology consult. It's very frightening but you will feel better when you have a treatment plan. This community is a wealth of knowledge and support. Best of luck. Donna.
