transdermal tamoxifen

i have read about a new tamoxifen that is delivered via the skin and reduces the side effects and chances for endo cancer- has any one been on this? Perhaps in a clinical trial? I asked my onc about this and she had no idea what i was talking about but i'm reading several studies and they all support i being better

A randomized phase II presurgical trial of transdermal 4-hydroxytamoxifen gel versus oral tamoxifen in women with ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast.

    Yes, I had heard about this a couple of years ago and asked my onc as well. Unfortunately, my experience was just like yours: he stared at me blankly and says he had never heard of such a thing. Very frustrating when as patients, we are more informed about recent medical advances than our doctors are.

    The chances of endometrial cancer from Tamoxifen are barely statistically significant-about 1% over standard risk from what I remember of the statistics.
