OMG Ruth that is so true, I forgot to wear mine on Monday so I haven't put it on all week I figure if Monday didn't count the rest of the week won't so I'll start again next week! I have my airfare already saved up for San Antonio and at the end of the month I'm doing a job and I have ear marked those funds as my spending money so count me in I'm heading to Texas in October Woohoooooo. Mary seeing masterpieces up close is magical, one of my favourite spots in London is the Turner room in the Tate, the majesty of those paintings take your breath away. Badger I love googling too you can spend hours being taken off in different directions. Sadly I think my Rooney is near the end of his days,we've had a couple of bad days where he won't settle was coughing non stop and crying and last night I made the decision that I was taking him in today, then this morning he seems fine he's bright and eating but I know it's only a short reprieve, he is such a good little boy I know my heart is going to shatter.

    This morning went to Spin.

I see I'm working too hard because I am three pages behind. I didn't get to read every word of every post but loved the pictures. Mary I love all the Impressionists but Renoir has always been my favorite.

I managed to get in a half hour walk today and did planks. It is still cold but finally verysunny.

Today I packed a week's worth of exercise (for me anyway) in a day and am exhausted. My DH and I have participated in the Dallas Walk MS this morning and did the 5K (we walked though). A dear friend has MS and we have been on their team for 10 years. I have been a "Mission Mover" (top 100 fundraiser) for the Walk for the past 3+ years and was #31 last year.

We then went to the new fitness center we joined for the first of three sessions with a trainer that came with our membership. We picked the same trainer as we though it would be good to work with someone from a more wholistic approach. DH had 11AM so while he was with the trainer I took a Tai Chi class for the first time. It was awesome. Small class but it seemed like everyone had been doing this class with the same teacher for years but they were welcoming and helpful to a newcomer. DH and I are wrapping up a Mindful Meditation class this Thursday night and Tai Chi will be a nice transition. Funny that between my sessions with my therapist, the mediation class now Tai Chi, there is a connecting thread about breathing.

Then I met with the trainer and told her about my surgery and physical challenges and that I am working with a therapist for BMX related ROM and cording problems but need to get on a program to do cardio and lose weight. She told me she had worked with women with BC before and knew what to work on and what to avoid. She commented on my posture (poor) and that we need to work on my core.

We meet again in 3 weeks and she will give us a program and walk us through it and tweak as needed but in the interim she told me to continue with daily walks and to do the recumbent bike for 30 minutes 3x a week and try to do the treadmill to alternate but need to get my heart rate up to 115-125 and doing water walking in the pool will be great.

DH and I then did another 1 mike walk outside at the center. He has a smart watch and had logged almost 16,000 steps by the time we got home so I had to have done about the same. This is a lot for me!

Will get back there tomorrow and told the trainer that I am 100% committed when she asked.

This is our Walk MS team. We raised over $25,000 this year. Yeah!

Wow Balthus! That would be a busy day for anyone. What an awesome picture. What a big team! Congratulations on all the money you raised. A wonderful tribute to your friend.

I did a hard FIRM DVD this morning, went to my 90 year old friend's birthday party this afternoon, and am now watching the Frozen Four College Hockey Championship, where my Alma Mater, the University of North Dakota, is ahead 2-1 at the end of the second period (I will now knock on wood!).

Balthus, great pic! Congrats on the fundraising and the walk.

Got out this afternoon and walked 45 mins. Haven't found my CDs yet but have Walkman and cassettes. Did some housework and unpacked a few more boxes then crashed for a nap. The good news is I found the cookie jar but the naughty news is I was inspired to defrost a roll of choc chip cookie dough and bake to fill up that jar. My recipe makes a big batch so I bake half and freeze half. Comes in handy. ;-)

Awesome Balthus! Ruth. . .lol so true. Same thing for getting back out of bed and pacing the house to meet my step goal. Back at the gym feeding my hungry Fitbit Surge and back to rabbit food for the next 4 weeks. I enjoyed our trip too much.

Did some pilates and spent 4 hours wandering around Meynards with DS, who is now going to remodel his bathroom. I am amazed at young people; they just jump into projects without fear. Yikes!!!!!

Way to go Balthus and your team! Where are you in the picture?

Badger: How did you know I've been thinking about chocolate chip cookies? Enjoy yours!

Nats; Beautiful painting. Thanks for posting the picture of the opening game.

    Ruth: Now that's a project!

Yesterday I met a good friend for a hike at Morrow Mountain State Park in the Uwharrie Mountains. Clear sky, temperature in the 50s but very breezy at times. We still had a fantastic hike and the temperature was sweatshirt perfect.

    I walked/ran this afternoon.

Mostly cloudy here today but got in a 30-min walk during a brief sunny spell. Ruth that windstorm blew in early this morning with hail so intense it woke us from a sound sleep. Did more chores and finished the March bookwork. Last load of laundry is in the dryer. Start it all over again tomorrow LOL. Have a great week ahead everyone.

Fabulous effort Balthus. Wonderland your hike sounds very invigorating. Badger my group of friends came over this afternoon to play cards and one of them brought ice cream, 9 small tubs of different flavors of Baskin Robins and when she left she left all the darned ice cream, my freezer is full - I'm screwed, you know I can't resist ice cream.

Did an hour with my trainer this morning working in the weight room.

The rain messed with my walking but DH and I did manage an evening walk during a brief hiatus in the rain...I just hope the rain stops by morning so I can walk before work. It is going to be a crazy day tomorrow, so don't know if I'll get a walk in during the work day. It is a professional development day...I have to go between several buildings for a staffing, two different trainings and one of my schools has kids so to test one kiddo....Hope I remember where I'm going when!!! At night we have a bar mitzvah party.

I've got to start getting organized for Passover as it is just 12 days away.....I've cleaned my frig in the basement as well as the freezer in the basement. I have nothing on the calendar for Friday so my goal is to clean my upstairs frig and my 2 ovens...that should be a real challenge!!! I still have to shop for Passover, but also plan menus. I haven't really invited any company so that should make things easier.

I started a post last night on my phone whole watching TV and it froze and when I refreshed it was gone.

Thanks for everyone's good wishes about the MS Walk we participated it. For those who asked, I am about 5-6 women in from your right standing next to the amazing Sarah who is 95 and the mother of my friend with MS.

I bought a Fitbit Aria that came on Saturday and I tried to put it on yesterday morning first time and after 20 tries gave up and had to have DH do the claps. I know others here use Fitbit's. I used to have a Jawbone that slip around your wrist easily so this bracelet with the 2 buttons on the Fitbit is a pain and I hope they loosen up or I will be returning it. I really prefer something that is easy on/off but I did not want a watch strap as I plan to wear on left wrist along with my watch as well so need something slim.

I did wear it all day yesterday but wonder about accuracy of these devices. My husband has a smart watch and had his on all day yesterday but he was pretty sedentary watching Sun AM new shows & then basketball while I was out running around getting a manicure, grocery shopping at 2 places, a stop at Tuesday morning & walked a few blocks to see if the lines around the block where the new Cake Boss opened here were still as long as they had bern (yes they were so I didn't get close or tempted but was curious). We met back at home and then went to meet a friend for an early dinner and went to our Fitness Center for a one mile walk around the trail before it got dark. When we were done we both had about the same number of steps and I would have though I'd have had more than DH. So wondering if his or mine is not accurate. Doesn't matter terribly as it's more of a motivation device and it did do an accurate job on my sleep last night.

I fear today may be iffy for exercise as I have pT this morning, work, then a 5:30 appointment with my internist for mandatory 6 month visit to get prescriptions refilled and it is going to storm bad here today. Already got dark & thundering. Tomorrow we have our tax call with our accountant after work so may not get back to gym until Wedensday. Hope everyone has a good week. Photo form last night's walk.

I got in 75 miles of cycling in the last 3 days so feel quite exercised. Friday was a quick warm up run. Saturday was a long ride in the Skagit Valley with my friend Jim. Was nice to catch up and the perfect spring day. Got to explore which you don't get to do with large groups. I signed up the Skagit Spring Classic which is a month from now. I will be doing the metric century which will help me get strong for the events to come.

Yesterday, I cycled around where I live, but unfortunately underestimated the traffic on part of the route. Not fun. But I did discover a new place to go hiking only 3 miles from here. It also had too many hills for my tired legs.

My gear is wearing out. Just bought new shifters, and then the zipper for my rear bag broke. YIKES!!! I could use a new pair of shoes too. When I am done, I will look a lot spiffier!

Anyway, lots going on and it's so nice to be back on my game exercise-wise. Have a great week everyone! - Claire

Balthus, great job with the steps and raising money! Cheryl, sorry about Rooney. Hope you can have more time with him.

I'm doubling up the exercise and mimicking a fasting diet with added calories for workouts because I was a bad girl this weekend. Worked out with DD and then went to Body Jam last night. Tonight it will be a workout with DD and then salsa.

Cheryl - I'm so sorry about Rooney. It always seems that there's never the "right" day to take them in - you just have to go with your gut. No matter how long they live, it's never long enough.

Balthus - It sounds like you're in good hands with your trainer. You may want to download the Fitness Trainer guide from Step Up Speak Out to give to your trainer, especially since you have cording. http://www.stepup-speakout.org/Trainer%20doc%20for%20SUSO-040113.pdf It's a guide written for trainers and other fitness professionals about working with b/c survivors. Beautiful picture of your park - love the lighted fountain.

Karen - can you come clean out my stuff after you finish with yours??? Claire - I love getting new fitness gear - I always feel a bit more energetic wearing new stuff. Kindergarten - Happy AI Graduation Day!

DH ran his first (and last?) half marathon Sunday, and I got in over 16000 steps just being the race support crew, running around taking pix. He was exhausted but exhilirated. Core workout this morning.

    Yea, Kindergarten!! A wonderful milestone!

Congratulations to DH, natsfan. That is a big milestone as well.

So sorry about Rooney, Cheryl. So hard....

I went to Cardio Sculpt this morning and have been running errands this afternoon. I am going to a Jazz Band Concert at the high school tonight, which is always a very fun evening.

Send me any extra ice cream and chocolate chip cookies too (it doesn't help me to freeze them because they are very delicious when frozen!).

Good job Balthus on the fund raising and the exercise.

45 minute walk this evening for me.

Kindergarten....Yahoo!!!! I quit AI's after 3 1/2 years due to the side effects....Good for you 10 years!!! That calls for a celebration.

    Only managing 13K steps lately!!

Have an early morning staffing (7:15) on a kiddo tomorrow so need to leave by 6:45!! Sure hope I get up on time so I can at least get a short walk in...I feel so much better when I walk before work even if it is a short walk.
