I am 3 weeks post surgery. Yesterday I noticed that my breast was very swollen. It does not seem as bad today.I have no pain,I am not running a temperature. My breast is not hot to the touch. My BS's nurse said this morning that it was probably fluid gathered around where the lumpectomy was done. I have an appointment with my surgeon this Thursday. Did any of you have that problem?

1/18/16 Surgery: Yes, last wk appoint, Dr. said seroma, puton antibiotics, aspirated. On wk later less fluid, slightly less swelling, but tight, thickened, and started to be painful 5 days after surg, less now, but I want to know if I should make another appoint before My March 22 follow up?

nursedars -I just got back from seeing the surgeon for my post op appointment. He checked my breast... it is swollen and bruised but no pain and not hot to the touch, and I am not running a temperature. He told me to wear a bra with good support. He thinks it will clear up. If I were you I would keep an eye on it and if it gets more swollen, painful, or hot to the touch I would call. They will be very happy to answer any questions. Last week when I developed a rash, they had me see the surgeon's PA.

What was your diagnosis? What type of surgery did you have? Have they recommended treatment yet? Good luck with your treatment.

Seroma, and infection. I called and got in right away as you said. Aspired lots at site , and needed two different antibiotics. Now chemotherapy started 3/9/16 and have second 3/30/16. Used Chemo cold caps for the two treatments, but my hair was very fine to start with, and now much, much thinner, No balding, just very thin. Now my mission is to look for a wig.
