Adrenal Hyperplasia and Anastrozole...Anyone Had This Issue?

Hi, all. Was told by MO last week to see an endocrinologist before starting Arimidex, as women with adrenal hyperplasia (an inherited adrenal disorder that results in too many androgens) might not be able to take it, or might need a bigger-than-usual dose. I wonder if anyone is familiar with this disorder and how it relates to taking anti-estrogen drugs. Any insight appreciated.

Girl53....Although I don't know anything about adrenal hyperplasia Im so glad your MO referred you to an endocrinologist. Im a firm believer that they should be part of the team for everyone. IMO MOs just don't know enough about hormones in general. This is why most don't even check our hormone levels while prescribing anti hormone treatment. Good luck to you and keep us posted....
